Could God have designed the Bible to only have one interpretation?

    I missed this bit! : D

    OWB:
Let's take John 3:16 for an example like Humpy did. If you believe it to be more than words, you'd better start getting used to me! Or my surviving you. Because I believe in Jesus, not his death like you do. lol

It hasn't occurred to you that I may not decide to read it? You're not really inspiring me to OWB. lol!

You don't have to believe in the bible to perceive heaven. You just need to be in the right spirit.

    Words of love.

OWB is adamant that it's meaningless to have survived nothing, but why, if I am surviving? I am sure we can only come to terms with everyone elses living if we love our own terms of life. ;D

It doesn't matter whether you read it or not, nothing you do or don't do can definitely preclude it from being in your future. Someone could throw a Bible out the window tomorrow and bonk you on the head and suddenly the Bible has become part of your future and you didn't even have to read it.
Inspiring? What makes you think I care whether I'm inspiring to you or anyone? [IMG]

No, it would only then become a part of my present and past OWB (unless the damn thing were actually to lodge itself in my cranium of course.) I've never really wanted to be bonked on the head with a bible before, or now, despite it being one of the best things I've seen you write!

That's a sad thing to say. I'm writing here with you aren't I? You've inspired me to start calling you Fred! :)

The difference between not so good and one of the best is it comments on a thing a bible can actually do irrespective of beliefs about it.

I just hope Fred doesn't interpret what I wrote up there to mean I meant he wrote the bible.
But imagine if he did? And believed it himself! He'd perhaps freely interpret to us, to everyone, his agenda in beginning this thread! ;D So... I hope he does!

In fact he does, but the effect of that is entirely self defining and is not appreciable at large, (exclusionary).

4:171 (Asad) O FOLLOWERS of the Gospel! Do not overstep the bounds [of truth] in your religious beliefs, [180] and do not say of God anything but the truth. The Christ Jesus, son of Mary, was but God's Apostle - [the fulfilment of] His promise which He had conveyed unto Mary - and a soul created by Him. [181] Believe, then, in God and His apostles, and do not say, "[God is] a trinity". Desist [from this assertion] for your own good. God is but One God; utterly remote is He, in His glory, from having a son: unto Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth; and none is as worthy of trust as God..:sunny:

^ Distended works of the holey thingy! : D

Fred 1:1 O brothers mine, and sisters too, dispose [of] affairs in one and two,
and three and four and multitudes, for more than number love is due. [1:2] Verily, let you count the ways, for raising them above the count, and sanctify your works of days with revels on besermoned mount. [1:3] Trust your hearts before all gods, or god, for widely held is one, infinity still scatters heads as shadows at high noon of sun. [1:4] Seers and scribes should free themselves beyond the confidence of priests, for woman is no shedevil, and man not just the ape of beasts. [1:5] So swell on godsmen, call the bluff of they who do defer command, so that the body whole is blessed, inspired, that we may force no hand!

    Adamant? No.

Survive simply means to remain alive or in existence or able to live or function, especially succeed in staying alive when faced with a life-threatening danger or to come through a life-threatening experience or a period of difficulty and remain alive, in existence, or in a previous position or life and only I'm pointing out to you that you seem to have no idea what the word survive means. Still arguing semantics I see. [IMG]
As thedope would say that is only your perception of what is happening. [IMG]

You have no idea what the Bible can do, which is evident in your constant dismissal of it. [IMG]

The manna that came down from heaven to feed those who were wandering in the wilderness, is symbolic of the wisdom, knowledge and insight that came down from above, one was for the physical growth of the body, the spiritual bread/words from heaven are for the growth of the Mind/spirit.

Of the manna from heaven, which I believe was a carbohydrate substance that came down from the cloud of elements that was blasted into the stratosphere by the explosion of the Island of Santorini in 1500 BC, at the time of the exodus, under which cloud, Moses remained for 40 years before it finally disapated.

It was written that the manna had to be picked up before the sun melted it, otherwise it would breed worms and stink. And it was also written, "That which could endure fire (The burning hailstones) simply warmed by a faint sunbeam, melted away.

It was described by the ancients as being a cloud by day, and a host of stars by night, burning hailstones, that were triggered by the night conditions I suppose.

It is believed that 35,000 kilometres of matreial was blasted up into the stratosphere, with the explosion of the Island, and that the explosive force would have created tidal waves of anything up to 130 ft high, which would have travelled at speeds of around 150 miles per hour.

When the cloud stood still the Israelite would set up camp beneath it, until the cloud moved, and they would move with it, they had their flocks of sheep, goats, and cattle, etc, but no crops from which they could make bread, and were reliant of the carbohydrate substance that they would pick up in the morning, which was apparently, the residue of the fireballs that would burn out before reaching the ground, and would fall each night.

The ancient stories concerning that manna, reported that it had the virtue of every pleasant flavour, and that it had the ability to transform itself according to every person's choice. And I believe that this is how it should be with the heavenly manna aslo.

Moses said that the manna did have one true taste, and that was like biscuits that had been cooked in olive oil, so if any one wants to discover the true taste of the heavenly manna, then be all means go for it.

Carbohydrates are any of a group of chemical compounds, including sugars, starches, and cellulose, containing carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen ONLY, of which there was an abundant supply in the stratosphere at that time, In fact a cloud that turned day into night is recorded to have blackened the skies over China in 1500 BC.

It's a wonder that our scientific friends have not taken these stories into account, and tried to simulated the condition that would have occured during the periods of darkness, and attempted to create a cheap and viable source of food for the staving millions.

But what is your interpretation of those words of the Lord as spoken through his obedient servant Jesus? The one who our Lord god and saviour chose from among the people and sent him to speak in His name, in order that all those who would believe in the one who sent the man Jesus, would inherit eternal life?

Did he mean, that you must empty yourself of all preconceived Ideas of the word of our Lord God and saviour, who sent Jesus to speak in his name, which erroneous interpretations have been taught by men. And that you should come to the teacher, as a little child, empty of all preconceptions, and allow the spirit of the teacher within you, to guide you through the words of our Father, which words lead to eternal life.

Like I said, God wants the Bible to be understood only one way and we should endeavor to make that understanding our own. I have repeatedly said what I believe that to be. But I don't say; believe what I say but say; check the scriptures for yourself to see if these things are true.

Doesn't add up Fred. Unless you're God. You're not. I know this because I create you more than you I.

You see yourself and everyone else as sinners, but I don't. You should thank me Fred! : D
