Cough Syrup - drunk or high?

i can't believe no one caught this. i'm sure it was accidental, but what you're thinking of is robitussin maximum strength cough, not maximum strength cough and cold, which has more than simply dextromethorphan for its active ingredients...

 

yeah, i drank a bottle of robitussin max strength (just the cough one...cuz the cough n cold can do some damage...) n i was FUCKED UP for hours...

 

its a very wierd drug. i very much enjoy the dissociation, but there is none of the cosmic bliss of worthwhile psychedelics, and the undesirable effects of the drug aren't worth it, imo.

i'll do DXM occasionally, maybe once or twice a year at most though. its not good for you.

Yeah the ONLY time I have done DXM it was a bottle of Robo Max. I was fucked up for hours. Not very fun at all, IMO.

 

i can't stomach drinking cough syrup...last time i did it was most of a bottle of robitussin cough gels and two boxes of sucrets cough lozenges...total only came around to 600mg even, though

if you're gonna do DXM as a cough preparation rather than a relatively pure capsuled powder, i'd suggest sucrets. the dosage is low, so it takes a lot of them, but at the same time they dont taste bad at all. kind of like candy, but with a medicine afterflavor.

 

yeah, i actually only ever tried it for the first time a couple of weeks ago and even after one time of doing it, i decided its not going to be something I do often. Just every once in awhile... it was kinda like a bad trip in a way, but in a slightly good way. Really hard to explain but it was definitly a strange experience that I dont think I could handle doing often.

 

Yeah, once or twice a year is definitately the limit for me...
I can't really stomach cough syrup to begin with, and any time I do this stuff I feel pretty iffy for a day or two afterwards.

The trip is interesting...but yeah, none of the euphoric bliss sensation...lots of weird sensations, visions, hallucinations, etc...but it can be pretty rough. Real vivid too.
Last time I tried it nothing happened for hours until I was laying in bed and suddenly it hit me really hard...I felt my body temp rise about 20 degrees in a sec...it was kind of scary because I know the risks of this stuff and even though I was careful to do it right, I thought it was giving me some kind of heart attack or something...
Then I passed out. woo.

 

Well I am always in search of a safe method for dxm...getting it pure here is just such a chore...so i looked up the zicam stuff :Per Each Spray: Dextromethorphan HBr 6.0 mg...the reccomend 5 sprays but it doesnt say how much is in the bottle so i guess 540 is right but Im curious, I have only tried dxm in ccc's and the theraflu strips...so how much dxm is in a box of c's as compared witht his zicam stuff??

A whole box of Coricidin (16 tablets) has 480mg of DXM.

 

Unfortunately that can happen with a lot of substances. Even after your body has built up a tolerance to something, occasionally it can be caught off guard. That's frequently how fatal overdoses occur. Residual or present substances, dehydration, even stress can play a factor in a sudden decrease of tolerance. It's a chance you have to take, I guess. The more you do, the more chance of something going wrong.
