In Ohio, a "corsortium" of 10 (that's right TEN) growers are proposing to make marijuana "legal" in Ohio, if THEY are the only entities allowed to raise or sell the crop. They want to change the Ohio Consitution so that this cartel is specifically named as the only entity permitted to raise marijuana. Some of the players in the Group of 10 are large business owners who are well known to be corrupt or shady in their business dealings. Amazingly, voters in the state are so stupid they have no idea that they are being hustled. They see "legal marijuana" and they are bedazzled. Farmers in the state will have no opportunity to participate in this new market. "Responsible Ohio" has thrown a bone to individuals who want to grow their own - thay can get a license from the Cartel to grow!!! Sickening, but not surprising.
It's still SO much better than jail. It really is. I'll gladly pay taxes for pot if it means I won't have oinkers in my face when I smoke it. Might be nice to have a consistent product as well!
the next thing you know, you cant grow your own tomatoes.. < actually with the way gmo is going ,, Im surprised its not illegal already..
The problem with this bill is not that you are paying taxes for pot. The problem is that a cartel will be established of only TEN growers. And, the Ohio constitution will be changed to protect the cartel! That means that no other farmers can participate in the market except the chosen 10, and that no one in the community benefits except the fat cats that are promoting this. Corruption at the highest level, and no one seems to grasp it. Or care. This is not "legalization" this replacing the old boss with the new boss and as far as I can tell he looks just like El Chapo.
Legalization has been good for everyone in Colorado. The state government has been making millions, and the innocent have been kept from unfair prison time. The crime rates have not changed. The more serious social problem is still booze, as drunks seem to cause traffic accidents and beat the shit out of their own family members.
