I have travel plans in June. I guess I will get travel insurance just in case

 

It will be a pandemic in a month, likely. Luckily I never get out and socialize with anyone. I think my odds of survival are pretty good. I just hope no one I know loses a kid, and I hope I don't lose anyone I know. Though of course, I hope no one dies. But it's spreading across Europe and it's only a matter of time, I think. It's gonna be strange, I can say that much, I think.

 

China has stopped all IMPORTS of wildlife to prevent the spread of the virus. Exports of bats from China is not stopping but there will be heavy tariffs imposed on countries.

You tell me. Is bat soup a racial issue? Or is it a disregard for consuming disease spreading animals? That R-word is thrown around so loosely these days.

 

Answering a question with another question is the argument of the ignorant in my opinion.

Also, it's been documented that not only did coronavirus not begin with bat soup, but that bat soup is not a staple dish in Wuhan. It's like saying, "Now York is a shithole pitiri dish because people got sick on Chicago pizza"

And people who know how to read were like, "ok, but pizza wasn't the culprit at all, so what is it you're really trying to say?"

I think he’s making a comment about the American media’s reaction to coronavirus. They went into a frenzy last week about coronovirus somehow triggering racism. Apparently one of the side effects is xenophobia, or at least that’s how they were spinning it. Business as usual for the MSM.

 

What's really telling is the way diseases are drawn into politics. This should never be the case, it's the realm of doctors, not lawyers. The contrast between two different presidential responses to a potentially lethal and wide reaching virus is stark.

Since nobody was likely to be calling Obama a "racist", why would he wait? But I'm also curious why Trump waited. Trump would be called a racist no matter what he did. If he closed the borders, there would be "outrage" across the airwaves. If he did nothing and a bunch of people got sick, he'd be crucified. I wonder how he would have fared if he had waited 194 days.

Bat Soup

Ingredients:

• 3 - 4 fruit bats, well washed but neither skinned nor eviscerated
• water
• 1 Tbsp. Finely sliced fresh ginger
• 1 LARGE onion, quartered
• garlic and lots of it !!!
• sea salt to taste
• Chopped scallions
• soy sauce and coconut milk / cream

Directions:

Place the bats in a large kettle and add water to cover, ginger, onion, garlic and salt.
Bring to a boil and cook for 60 minutes.
Strain broth into a second kettle.
Take the bats, skin them and discard the skin.
Remove meat from the bones and return meat, and any of the viscera you fancy, to the broth.
Heat.
Serve liberally sprinkled with scallions and further seasoned with soy sauce and/or coconut cream.
Makes 4 servings.

 

Yeah but obama wasn't up for reelection. Trump is and a lot of political experts (whatever that means) are suggesting Trumps handling of this could make or break his chances in November. Makes sense. If he does something and no one gets sick, he's the hero. If he does nothing and no one gets sick, people will say that was dumb luck and he could have had a disaster on his hands. If he does something and people do get sick, well at least he tried.
But if he does nothing and people get sick? He's done. It makes political sense to jump in with both feet

What frustrates the hell out of me is the Trump administration kept saying during their briefing yesterday, that the average American has nothing to worry about the corona virus. Who?! Who the fuck are considered the “average Americans”- what the hell does that MEAN!?

 

Damn, even with all the ingredients to make this even sound edible- I just can’t muster up the appetite to want to eat a FRUIT BAT
