I don't know about 'hype' now.
This thing is looking very serious indeed, at least for us here in the UK!

A total of 273 people in the UK have now tested positive for the coronavirus as of 9am this morning.

The Department of Health and Social Care this afternoon announced the rise of 64 cases.

It comes as a student at Oxford University tested positive for the coronavirus after returning from overseas travel.

Public Health England confirmed the case to the university yesterday and the Vice-Chancellor informed staff in an internal email seen by the MailOnline.

In the email Professor Louise Richardson claimed she was 'constrained as to what she could say' but was 'glad to report' that the student self-isolated as soon as they developed symptoms and did not attend university or college events after they fell ill.

So far in the UK there have been 273 confirmed cases of the disease and two deaths, two more cases were confirmed in Wales this morning.

In Scotland 1957 tests concluded 1939 cases were negative and 18 were positive.

ah but you want to know the "fun" part? last i've heard, hopefully this may have changed by now, but as of a couple of days ago, less then 2000 people have been tested in the u.s.
you might expect that in someplace like somalia or balize, but the u.s.?

d'oh!, but we're da smart people. lol right. but we're gonna throw money at it now, after we've had a couple of months to close that barn door and the horse is long gone.

and we do need those test kits, and we haven't even tested yet all or even most, of the health care workers who have to come in contact with those most likely to have it.

let people who actually know what they are doing, be in charge of doing it.

try to keep a supply of goods that you will need. it's just common sense . you cant depend on anyone but your self.
and don't tell anyone else what you have

  11. Just watch out for the selfish people out there that buy all the toilet paper so that you don't get any.
People are panicking over this new deadly flu bug.
I choose not to panic just to get the basics that i need and that's that.

We live in Washington State and in the US it’s the epicenter. I never thought it was hype and we are taking it seriously. Trumps public statements about the virus and our Governor are just the latest example of his disgraceful conduct. A lot of people who should know don’t know that the virus is 1/70 the size of a red blood cell. Indicates the problem faced in stoping the spread.

Yes as the virus progresses into a pandemic, less municipal workers will be showing up for work and departments such as water resources could suffer.

For example the 1993 Milwaukee, Wisconsin Cryptosporidiosis outbreak which killed 100 people and sickened 400,000 others, and the 2014 Flint Michigan water crisis (coming soon, to a town near you)

the water supply nearby is becoming like what you describe . all the water I use is run thru a water distiller . what is left behind is mud, calcium , and a lot of stuff that is not recognizable . get yourself a distiller . everyone needs pure water to drink

Our daughter was called to a supermarket to arrest an elderly woman, simply because she had not picked up her receipt. After checking that the woman had no criminal history, she took her to police car and gave her a ride home.
Her sergeant told her later that the dim witted store detective constantly checked customers over 70 and none of them had ever stolen a single item.

  20. Maybe it's time to arrest the store detective and have him up on vexatious litigant charges.
