Man.. it seems cops are everywhere lately.... I was outside earlier in the storm when two cops came to my neighbors house... my neighbor came out to smoke with me and was telling me she left one of her kids there when she went to the store and when she got back, the kid was so scared that he thought someone was breaking in to kill him and called the cops.
Her kids are 3 and 10 but she just said "one of the kids was here" and I didn't even think to ask her which one.... which could change the whole story. They were both probably there and the younger one called?
I doubt the younger one called. A three year old wouldn't know if someone was breaking in. Pretty irresponsible of her to leave a three year old in the company of a ten year old, though, in my opinion.
Yeah, she does irresponsible things with her kids all the time... things that bug me but they're never bad enough for me to feel it's my business.
I'd feel sketchy enough about leaving a 10 year old in charge of themself, never mind adding a 3 year old to the mix.
When I was a baby, my sister took care of me at age 7. She looked out for when my parents didn't. We both grew up fast but I was in good hands.....even if she was only 7 years old.
My apartment building never gets cops. We get ambulances more often. People just seem to fall over dead here. A friend of mine says my building is haunted....lol bs
Thats something I would rather not get into in an open forum. All I was trying to say is that some kids are capable of taking care of younger kids. Most aren't.....but some are.
