you know , it was so real at the big gathering in w.virginia that main
circle was close to the desparados of front gate . they get feeling
isolated too often . but there was something more to it ... some very kind
and sober sisters were always there and alot of healing went on for the
old men many who are vets , who are complainers , who are WARRIORS ,
who speak in their own ways . i am there too yet more free to go anywhere
and i see there is troubles everywhere and that the family heals them each
as one . we seek oneness , closeness . to ask for separation is extreme
and is suffering in itself . to be the separated ... is a kind of insanity .

so please don't ask for it .

I see a whole lot of little boxes..or let's get all comp-u-geeky here and call 'em folders...where's the next gathering folder...Rainbow hip stories folder...has anybody seen whazziz name folder...the Why Rainbow Sucks folder is just one of them. The possibilities boggle my little mind.

 

Aw, hell, It don't matter any more, guys. Just fight fire with fire instead. I just figured out a way to help counteract all the negative posts with some positive ones, and got complained at for it! HAH! The polls say evenly divided. OK by me. I just hope more folks can come up with more positive posts instead of arguing all the time. I love you all.

 

the question of not rainbow is one of self determination, and of definition through the socratic method.

on self determination. If someone does not want to be called rainbow, that is all it takes to be 'not rainbow'.

on definition. Each thing has a definition that excludes all other things. Therefore, 'rainbow' cannot be 'everybody' because there is already a word for everybody, and so rainbow must obviously be something else. (i propose that rainbow is defined, for now, by those willing to accept the nomaclature.

 

A few things that are getting missed.
What say the question was about smoking tobacco in front of the children. Now one side of the question is asking for safety for children, the other is asking for thier bad habits to be taken aside a few feet. The smokers say 'just move away from my smoke', but there is no place at this circle that does not have cigs.
Now it would be easy for the smokers to stand up and walk three steps away for a few moments and then sit back down, without missing anything. For the non smokers it means sitting in the back row forever, until it also becomes a row with smokers in it. Then they would have to move out of reach of the speakers.
So in this scenario, if we say 'no smoking in circle' everybody still gets everything. If we say 'nonsmokers should just move out of the smoke' a lot of folks will be nearly excluded from counsel.

Another point is about speaking in turn.
For various reasons certain types of negetive phrasing goes with over posting. The quiet and considerate folks will wait, and try to lead by example of good manners, and all. This leaves the board open to the tendency of a few folks being able to dominate the headlines with thier topics and direct the conversation.
On the land in real time we would witness the suffering of those sainted quiet voices. In cyberspace the effect of sufferance is not the same, and the loud and rude are not shantisena'd the way they would be in real space.
In real space we would expect that we would all have to put the 'same' amount of time to sitting/speaking/listening. In cyberspace fastest richest folks who have the most time to lurk are free to dominate the board.

Another point. About kitchens and VC
At vision counsel it is true that 'all is consensus' and that 'all are welcome'. At any one of the other 400+ counsels that happen at the gathering that is not as true. I can not go to krishna, or jerusalem, or graceland, and block thier gig all day, just because i want to smoke cigs in the kitchen.
This forum is more like that level. This forum does not 'represent' the national, or really anybody but us, and only 'now' not six weeks after your last post. We should not plan for everybody (an everybody that loses nothing, and is not here) at the expense of ourselves.

Perhaps we should just direct folks who are not aware what the difference is between a moderated and an unmoderated forum is to agr? I have posted on many unmoderated forums. I post here on BECAUSE it is a moderated forum.

strange,, almost 60 votes taken in the poll,,30 of wich have been posted since council was over.. i geuss some councils are never over...

 

i find it kind of ironic that right now there are like three post or more just eating up the first page with the same title by the same author. Is that not a blatant attempt to speak out of turn?

perhaps i should go read those post three or four times each just to make sure i am not mispercieving, or maybe i will never understand the thoughts of smart folks.

Didn't mean to make a scene of it. I was just speaking of the irony one of the only points i made was about 'negative' overposting, and then i saw (there were three) the same thing from a 'positive' post.

I don't know if that is any more clear. I will try to be more careful.
