Hello all. I am not a rainbow member but feel that I should say what i have on my mind in this particular place as I need to let everyone know how I would handle negativity.
I kind of got caught up in some negative things on the hipforums a few days ago as well as in my personal emails. I snapped back at this negative anvil that was thrown on me. I reacted all wrong. I do not think that I should have ignored any of the comments that were said directly at me and my family, but rather given place unto wrath for vegence is God's and just said, "Sorry that you feel so bad hearted for out of the heart the mouth speaks" and left it at that. I think something as simple as that would have shown a true rainbow member that their heart was in the wrong place, it would have shown them that they needed to focus more on the life, its miracle, its being and to have more faith that God can handle any situation if we let go of the negativity and let him handle it.
No child will starve, noone will be without shelter and noone will live without love, as long as i draw a breath and the rainbow people still believe in their cause.
I may not always agree with what a person does, but I will always love that person.

A block is a block. No box is necassary. I've been to more gatherins than I care to think about sometimes. Every time it has been MY choice, and only my choice whether it is a negative or positive experience. Who decides when this circle is over? Do you get to put some arbitrary rules on council now? When you decide let me know, I'll be there to block. consensus is different from majority rules.

If you don't like the negative posts, don't read them, if you want to see more positive on this forum, be more positive yourself.

The earth is round, lets not put our thoughts and feelings into a square box. I love you all, but we have to be the force of change here and everywhere that we may be.

Where your energy goes, so your attention flows, lets not focus our energy negativly.

Yeah, if theres no reason to stop 'council' although I almost detest applying terms of reality to terms of cybereality, anyway... consensus does have some sort of definition...so here we are.. smiling.. how about some sacred silence, that helps me think.. no time frames, no need to finish it prematurely..we have time, we have ALL the time, eternity if you will..he, so here we go... sitting again, learning to love.

Is rainbow a government, or a group? Why would we as a group want to put so much of our energy and focus into negativity? By giving it its own "special" place you are giving it importance beyond what it really has.

My family is not perfect, but I love each and every one you anyway.

 

Not sure why this has blossomed into a big issue. It's not like anyone is threatening to silence anyone else; posts wouldn't be erased, just moved. we're seeing it like this- if someone comes to vision council to talk about banking issues, then the person is at the wrong council & will probally be asked to take the issue to another council.


Maybe that's the key...what would the 'no complaint box' people think of a voluntary box? The poster of the complaint could be asked to move the thread (or to have it moved) and would have the advantage of being able to easily read over other complaints.

Sometimes we feel like posting to folks who've had drainbow-type experiences and are down on Rainbow. we try to be positive in our responses and we try to help those folks find the part of Rainbow that seems to be eluding them. After all, would they even be posting on a Rainbow forum if they weren't hoping to connect?

On the 'yes complaint box' end-when there are 5 or more complaint threads on the front page, that means an equal amount of other posts have been knocked back a page, which means folks who only get here once in a while might miss important stuff and it means that there are multiple threads with the same subject (like Ocala).

Why are you all so afraid of letting people express thier feelings and experiences right here with everyone else? Without darkness there can be no light.

I thought that this was an open forum, not a PR page where everything can only be rosy and good, and anything nasty or negative gets hidden in "the box". Life is not always rosy and good and if we just put there compaints in a "box" we are saying we don't care, we just want to be able to skip those parts.



Perhaps i missed something, but right now there is only one negative thread on the front page. My very first experience with rainbow was horrible, and back then I didn't have a forum to share my thoughts. Talking to others helped me give it another try, and I fell in love. If those kind brothers and sisters had just told me i could only complain if I stood over in the corner away from everyone, I would have never made it home. As for clogging up the front page, do you think we are all so stupid that we can't figure out how to go to the next page?

I don't understand the Shanti Sena connection, are these people trying to hurt you??? Are they disturbing the peace by voicing thier feelings?

This is not a gathering, this is an internet forum for discussing the rainbow family. You can not have true and open dialouge without allowing everyone to have there say.

It would maybe be nice to have an area set aside broken down by regions to help people connect with real people in there area, who could then help people see the light side of the rainbow.

The divisions at gatherings are only superficial, without dialouge and cooperation among kitchens nothing would get done. Just because I spend alot of my energy on kid village, doesn't mean I am completely disconected from everyone else.

You are absolutely right, but please let me find my own group through trial and error, through dialouge and cooperation. Please don't put me in a box of someone elses choosing. I want to be free to move between groups bringing the spirit of Love, Family and cooperation.

 

I'm fairly new here and I'm really not sure if I'm a rainbow, although I feel like one, I know I'm a hippie! Their's no dough about that.

But I have learned more about the interworkings of rainbow from this post than any others ive seen and it seems to me that there are ripples in the rainbow pond just as in all other groups in life.

I wont vote here cause I dont know the workings of the rainbow ways.

This is sorta cool to watch and read cause its a rainbow issue being sorted out by rainbow.

I am a bit surprised skip hasnt chimed in but maybe hes like a wise owl sitting in the trees watching and waiting.

Like I said ive learned ALOT from this. Adults debating like adults.

I just truly believe that hiding something doesn't promote healing. Like an infected wound these things need to be exposed to the light for healing to happen.

I just thought maybe if we could help people find someone live in their own area it might be nice

again, I thought we were specifically disscussing getting rid of "complaints" on the front page, I have no problem with forums devoted to specific kitchens. In fact alot of them have their own websites anyway

We could have kid village here I guess, kid village belongs to everyone. But if you put up a sticky and tell people to stick there complaints there then they really don't have a choice. A lot of people who have the negative feelings know little about rainbow ways (as if any of us can truly know anything) and as most people are programmed to follow directions I'm not so sure it could really be voluntary.

And lastly, I'm sorry if anyone thought I was in any way attacking them personally, I was in a hurry when I wrote that and maybe I didn't say exactly as I meant. But I really feel strongly that this is the place to discuss negative experiences that our brothers and sisters have. I have seen such wonderful things through my time with my family, but I have also things things that upset me or others, and I want to be able to discuss these things with everyone, nnot just a few people who make a choice to visit a complaint area. Most people I think would avoid that area, or worse seek it out just to feed off of that negative energy.

If people are asked to place their complaints in a box, then it would be their choice to put complains there; just like it is choice that people open a thread that voices a complaint; and Bus Mama, many Rainbows aren't 'programed' to follow directions, one of the many reasons that the government would like to see Rainbow Gatherings disappear.

Just prior to the council thread appearing there were at least 3 complaints on the board & many had similar comments or suggestions. If we continue to let the complaints be a dominating factor, the next thing we know, we'll have the AGR complaint posters showing up. we've literally had people on AGR state that 'Rainbow is dead'; is that really the type of vibe that should be expressed to young people looking for a better way. Do you have any idea how many people have closed their minds to Rainbow because of the negative things posted on internet sites? Just in the short time that we've been on the internet, we have seen many people 'walk away' due to the constant flames and negative vibes on AGR. The only reason AGR flamers have not showed up on HipForums is because it's a moderated forum. If the flamers see that they can post almost any slam toward Rainbow on HipForums, they will take over the board and the next thing we'll all see is a bunch of negativity, some of it will be misinterpetations of something that happened at Rainbow, some of it will be straight up lies.

Just to let folks know, we were 'anti-computer' hippies for a very long time, partailly because of the negative things that come out of AGR (known as AGRO by many); but mostly because of the changes that have occured at Gatherings once Rainbow was introduced to Cyber-world. Gatherings had fewer problems when folks were introduced to Rainbow face-to-face by other Rainbows. we see HipForums as a very positive place where young people can explore Rainbow-world in a setting closer to the inner Gathering.

(& note to BusMama:all voicings in a council should be given & recieved with Love-hopefully no one here would think that anyone's comment was a personal attack
