Ash, maybe you could define that a bit more? Like, what kind of online games? Are you talking about MMORPG style games? Or something else?
I installed Star Trek Online not too long ago. Took forever to download and I still haven't played it... System Requirements look low enough for my computer to handle tho and it has some pretty good reviews. There was a game I used to play a long time ago called Dofus. It's a turn-based mmo rpg. What I liked most about it was that you can get certain jobs for your character, like woodcutter, farmer, etc and use those skills to upgrade your tool and sell the stuff you get from your job for extra money. All the traditional RPG aspects and very well drawn and thought out enemies. Here's the link: http://www.dofus.com/en They also have another game they recently released called Wakfu which is on Steam and has it's own standalone application like Dofus (I believe). Pretty neat game imo, kept me busy for quite a while. And you can hang out and chat with other players
Star Trek Online is pretty cool. The character creation is really nice and allows for some unique looks, especially if you go with making your own alien. I haven't played in awhile, but all the different aspects (space stuff, planet stuff, space station stuff) is all well done. The UI is very Trek-ky and leveling and crafting and stuff are easy enough to understand. These days I'm playing Elder Scrolls Online... which is awesome. If you like any of the single-player Elder Scrolls games, you should like the online version too. They're been keeping up with bug squashing and new features, not to mention actually listening to the customer base on a lot of things. For sandbox style fun, I would suggest Second Life. Granted, it's not a game, but it is a virtual world... and it does have tons of games in it. And you can make real money doing any number of things. (There's a scripting language and building tools. Plus, it helps that you can import 3D modeling files now, including wearable avatars. Just VERY capable at allowing you to do just about anything you want!) But, Ash, if you're just looking for some quick fun online games, I would just use the Microsoft store (if you're using PC) or Google Play (if you're using the Chrome browser). There's plenty of free, fun games on those.
http://www.addictinggames.com/strategy-games/gauntlet.jsp not as cool as the original, and the collision detection is a little buggy.
D'oh... it glitched and I landed outside the border of the room, couldn't get back in. And yeah know, I could go for another Gauntlet remake. I'm tempted to suggest a modern MMO style. Not sure if it'd be good, but it seems like it could translate easily enough.
this javascript one is way better. i think the gameplay is closer to the original, though the speed of the wizard is as fast as the elf should be. http://codeincomplete.com/projects/gauntlet/index.html
