Yuck they gave the vegertarian table (5 of us) tofu in China. The waiters stood around the table and watched us eat it. It was horrible but we just smiled and continued.
Depends on what type of tofu and how it's been cooked. However, I always prefer to eat it with a bit of soy sauce.
i've always really liked tofu. specially in stirfry. my local chinese place doesn't offer it as a veggie alternative which i was sad about as i used to get it from the chinese place back home.
Well thats for another thread i guess The incredibly brief summary though is: Getting a cows milk DOES harm the cows. Very, very much so. You should read up For many it is a philosophy, their whole outlook on life means they do not see other animals as food sources or objects to be used, but just as other beings who should live out their lives the way they wish. I personally dont like farming of other animals and this has always had an impact on the way i eat, especially after learning about the horrors in those places and seeing with my own eyes Many people also feel more comfortable as herbivores. They feel healthier, better in their bodies. They feel their bodies are not naturally omnivorous Like for example a vegan view on cows milk is usually- A-How very odd to consume the breastmilk from another species B-that cows milk was designed for a baby animal with 4 stomachs C-We are adults and no other species of adult in the world needs breast milk of ANY kind, never mind from a completely different species D-That calves that are ripped away from their intelligent mothers, who often literally cry, are often either killed immediately or kept in a tiny crate and half starved to make the vile product that is veal E-That a cows milk is simply NOT HEALTHY for the human body. For, presumably, the above reasons, and the fact it has been proven to be linked to Diabetes All kinds of cancers Early puberty Allergies Obesity etc (i could go on all day and tis is already looking like a thread hijack) F-That the stuff is pumped with nasty hormones G-That the calcium in it isnt even well absorbed by the human body, and youd be much better off with a pile of sesame seeds And also, how could i forget, the MASSIVE environmental impact of meat-eating or animal farming of any kind, and the fact that many vegans would like to halt this The reasons for being vegan go way beyond what ive outlined, but like i said its just a brief thing to get you thinking, because youre obviously interested Its also easy once you adjust And, uhm, i hope the OP has started cooking yummy meals!
My mum says milk gave my bro and me asthma. So now we boil our milk. I donts gots enough calcium. If i dont drink it for a while i can feel it. it sucks. When im older i plan to go vegan but not now
Yeah it could have done that to you But right on. Go at your own pace. If you feel you need it now then you need it. I ate fish until i was 14 but stopped eating land mammals age 12. Eggs and dairy quickly followed. This was right for me, i wasnt informed or motivated enough to cut it all out at once, id have become ill because i still didnt know a lot about nutrition and still believed packing in 4 giant choc bars a day was healthy Its all about taking the time to learn all the facts and doing what feels best for you
Asthma is a symptom of an underlying intolerance. what you feel when you go without it is withdrawal - stick with it, trust me when you've got past the withdrawal you'll feel a LOT better! If you have a milk sensitivity (your asthma says you do) then if left untreated you could get full-blown lactose/casein allergy (as in you go into anaphylaxic shock when you eat dairy). Not trying to scare you, but you might wanna cut down a bit. I did, and lot a TON of weight, felt better, the dark circles under my eyes went etc etc. try it for a month, see how you feel.
