Sarah (or is it Sara?) never sure on that one lol, yeah wings are awesome, weve got a pub near me that has a special on Tues for 10 wings blue cheese celery and a pint of a beer of your choice and it costs only 7 bucks including tip. So my friends and I try to go there every week to have a nice guys night.

The women who changed a nation
Rosa Parks has helped change a whole nation. On December 1, 1955 she refused to give up her seat on a bus to make room for a white man. She was arrested and fined for violating a civil ordinance. This caused the Montgomery Bus Boycott. Rosa became an international icon for racial segregation. Her act if defiance sparked the civil rights movement that ended legal segregation in America. Rosa was the advisor of the NAACP Youth Council and was also the secretary of the NAACP.
Rosa Parks was born on February 4, 1913 in Tuskegee, Alabama. She grew up on a farm in Montgomery, Alabama. She was raised by her mom and her grandparents. She was home schooled by her mother in tell the age of fourteen. Racism was a everyday part of life for Rosa. Back then black people had no civil rights and were terrorized by the KKK. She remembers her grandfather protecting the front door with a shotgun when the KKK marched in front of oh her house. “ I remember going to sleep as a girl hearing the Klan ride at night and hearing a lynching and being afraid the house would burn down” ( Academy of Achievement 1).
Rosa helped spark the whole civil rights movement in America. On the day of her court day African Americans were told to not ride the bus. “Rain threatened, yet the black population of Montgomery stayed off the buses, either walking or catching one of the black cabs stopping at every municipal bus stop for 10 cents per costumer - standard bus fare”(The Time 3). Her trial lasted thirty minutes and she was given her punishment. That very same day the Montgomery Improvement Association was born. The members elected a very well known American of our time Martin Luther King. “The members elected as their president a relative newcomer to Montgomery, the young minister of Dexter Avenue Baptist Church: the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.” (The time 4).
The bus boycott worked and on December 20, 1956 the boycott was over and black people were aloud to sit were ever they wanted on any bus. The Supreme Court banned segregation on city public transit vehicles. This was huge for the civil rights group that had been fighting for their rights. If it wasn’t for Rosa this but not have happened for a long time. It was her courage and bravery that ended segregation. “She has been with us ever sinceva persistent symbol of human dignity in the face of brutal authority” ( The Time 5).
It was at a midnight meeting of the Women’s Political Council that 35,000 handbills were distributed to all black schools. The message was for all African Americans to stay off the bus and find another way to get around. Wither it be walking, riding a bike, our taking a cab. This is how Rosa and others that were apart of civil rights started the Montgomery Bus Boycott. Prior to the change of the law that ended segregation on all public buses. The Montgomery laws on segregation were very complex. “Blacks were required to pay their fare to the driver, then to get off and re board through the back door. Sometimes the bus would drive off before the paid-up customers made it to the back entrance. If the white section was dull and another white person entered, blacks were required to give up their seats and move father to the back; a black person was not even allowed to sit across the aisle from whites. These humiliations were compounded by the fact that two-thirds of the bus riders in Montgomery were black”( The Time 2).
Rosa Parks is truly and extraordinary person. She stood up against racism and helped change a whole a nation. She grew up in times were African American’s were treated as second-class people. She changed America for the better. She helped not only African American gain rights, but all colored people. She is a role model for all Americans.+

Yeah its a great way to get all the friends together to see everyone at the same time. You know catch up as a group and such.
