I find very frustrating when having a conversation with someone they just disappear without saying I'm signing off now. I find this very disrespectful especially when you just started to chat, I don't think I will bother anymore.
I agree fully. When you are leaving comments or a message, obviously people are in different time zones and have different commitments, but after exchanging a quick succession of messages, I would always tell someone when I needed to sign off and suggest a time when we could continue our chat. For all its advantages, the internet almost seems to thrive on inconsideration and bad manners .
it depends. if you've exchanged a couple PMs, or made a couple posts back and forth in a thread, then it's just the nature of the internet that there may be a gap. if you've been messaging back and forth nonstop for hours, then a "talk to you later" might be appropriate. but it also depends on your speed of reply. if i send a message expecting you to reply right back, then it takes you 15 minutes and i need to sign off i'm probably not going to send you another message saying that i'm about to leave. also, stuff suddenly comes up sometimes. you know, real life stuff that can unexpectedly pull you away from the forum. also, if you find people keep disappearing when you send them dick pics, it's not them being rude.
Well there's one mystery solved. I thought they were being rude. Guess I have some apologies to make.
