Deviate being deviate. Just ignore it! :).

Anyway. What do you mean by "what makes them" control freaks? Chemically? Personality-wise, action-wise?

I dunno, need more info to answer the question!

No really, haha. I think banning things (especially when they are used responsibly by the majority) is the definition of a control freak.

What about owning a gun when you don't really need a gun - especially, say, to go into Starbucks or your local hardware store...
Just put a banana in your pocket instead...

    Derogatory:
The phrase was first used in the late 1960s — an era when great stress was laid on the principle of 'doing one's own thing' and letting others do the same.

    WMCFCF? Other people?

At some point in their history they were reinforced for controlling behavior and began displaying it and being reinforced frequently.

When I think of control freaks I don't think of large scale things such as banning guns or abortion, I think of people trying to control their smaller-scale world. Friends, home life, situation. People who don't like to feel out of control.

no me neither.ya people trying to control their small scale worlds would be my main definition also.my main theory on it would be it is fear based and fear driven driven due to deep rooted feelings of insecurity in oneself.that somehow by peoples desire to control others makes them feel more secure within themselves.

Oh that's right, I forgot. Only control freaks know when someone may or may not need something, say, a firearm.
