Conservative Parents

Kill them.

 

Just say your belifs and say that your mom and dad should respect them because they are your parents even though they may not like it.

 

my parents are very strange in this matter. They would be what society calls hippies, by the way that they think, dress, act. but dont want myself and my siblings to be the same way. its very strange because they both smoke pot and then dont allow it among myself and siblings. they are very hipocritical in that aspect. everyone in our family is very artsy and into nature but they never influenced it, they always went against it, saying that they didnt want us to be like them. it sounds absolutely rediculous but ive come to accept the way that they think.

 

Hey kids. By judging your parents and their beliefs makes you no better then they are. You don't have to conform to their way of thinking. I'm almost 43 and my mom still cuts me down for going to Bonnaroo, Wakarusa and over 20 Schwagstocks. She makes fun of my hippy clothes and studies on spiritual enlightenment, my world peace rallies, and I feel sorry for her. She is soooo closed minded.
My advice is to stick with what you feel in your heart, no one can take that away from you. As for your parent's, pity them for being stuck in society Hell but find tolerence in your heart. Help run food drives, help at soup kitchens, get friends together with trash bags and clean up the parks and forest around your home and always do at leased one unselfish random act of kindness a day. Maybe they will see that being a "hippy" isn't all about drugs and protest. It's about caring more about your fellow man and nature more then material STUFF. (my mom thinks it's nice that I spend so much time helping the homeless but has never donated a dime or minute to my cause!) So just love them and their ignorance.

 

I think that its neat when people recognize your beliefs, even through hate and pointed fingers. It means you are making a good statement and catching some eyes. Maybe those eyes will follow after?

 

Ya kno consrvatives aren't all bad, my friends dad is a conservative and we blaze with him all the time, he just believes in family values and conservative ideals of freedom, etc. ya know people that follow bush aren't following a conservative, bush makes clinton look like a conservative.
