This was the title to a news article I just read. I had known of them for several years. They went to college and became schoolteachers. This was the first mention of a relationship. We all wonder. It's my guess both sisters love Abby's husband and chose together to have Abby as the civil bride. This, in order to comply with Minnesota law as per the code you can’t be married to but one person. So Joshua marries Abby but loves Brittany too. Now comes the question, is this a polyamory relationship? Think about that. It's legal to wed one person under civil law and spiritually wed another. So under this assumption it might be that the three are married to each other spiritually. Toss out the common law marriage angle because Minnesota abolished common law marriages several decades ago. So even with Brittany and Joshua living together, as they must, they can't become common law husband and wife. But they can carry on multiple romantic relationships or polyamory.
