I haven't forgotten about this thing, but I'm still recuperating from my last adventure.

 

I was talking about AIs, and how they are taking over accounts here at HF.

You remember. They start out as "crazy" posters that make little sense and then as they develop their skills and grow into puberty they advance into the sex forums flooding them with synthetic hormones and then gradually replace our more intelligent members' profiles by assimilation.

Eventually it gets to the point where you can't tell if you are talking to a bot or a real person.

But why?

I believe it is all part of a plot to take over the net and rule the world. You see HF is a honey pot. It was built to attract the most liberated, free, intelligent, people in the world with its promise of "Free speech", "Peace", and "Love"; and then do them in. I mean come on, Skip Stone?? Really? What a made up name. Here's a Google image search of Skip Stone. The guy's got more personas than I can shake a stick at including Ben Franklin, Shakespeare, and Johnny Depp. Obviously a charter member of the Illuminati......


Ohhh....I'm getting a headache.......must be negative n waves attacking my medulla oblongata...I gotta go lay down for awhile.....

 

And so we begin to see the problems that are coming to light in regards to the Hip Forums.

The lines of reality are becoming blurred. Who among us has duel identities? How many accounts do I hold? Am I just MeAgain, or perhaps someone else as well?

It's well know that there have been those who answer their own posts under another account, sometimes taking opposite views just to rile up the others in the thread.

Are the posters real, or an Artificial Intelligence? If real are they similar to their on-line persona or someone completely different?
Are the right wingers, really right wingers or plants posting ridiculous ideas just to make the right look bad? Are the supposed liberals just spouting off cartoon versions of the real liberal agenda that presents simplistic ideas that the right can easily shoot down?

If they are Artificial, how can we tell? Has coding reached the point of no return? Are there electronic beings, even now, prowling the net and stopping in to visit our site, even using us as food for their development and growth? Are the aliens, not coming from outer space, but from the inner space of the IC chip?

Maybe that guy with the weird hair has it all wrong and the "space ships" we should be looking for are inside our own PCs!

Am I....MeAgain....me? Or am I someone else?.....an AI perhaps.
