I'm Catholic, but my grandma is Episcopalian. She's said before that she confesses personally in prayer.
I relize this is beside the point, but calling someone whose faith has minor differences from yours a heritic is a dick move. Just because someone doesn't confess in a confessional to some child-molesting priest, and prays to god for forgivness instead doesn't mean they're a heritic. Where in the bible does it say you need to be in a confessional? (I'm not a catholic, but it is my understanding that this would be what you believe is right, correct me if I'm wrong)
I was joking. In all honesty, although I do not agree with most of Protestant theology, I admire the devotion and faith of many of its adherents. Hence the winking eye. Also, that was kind of directed towards those few who frequent here fairly regularly. None of them had a problem with it if I remember.
Lol.. Ok, sorry edit: at my church people say stuff like that and mean it, when people claiming to be Christians say that stuff seriously it really bugs me. Sorry, my mistake
Arian? who you calling Arian, you... you... Mary worshiper, you? Although Arian did seem to be on the right track.
My favourite thing about Arian and his brand of Christianity was that 1) St Nicholas punched him in the face for slandering Christ's true nature(s) and 2) this: the oddly feminine (but naked with penis) Jesus being baptized by a hyper-masculine John the Baptist and a very pagan River Jordan character. It just makes me smile for being quite silly. I'll take the Blessed Virgin Mary over a non-God Jesus any day...
Well the bishops all kicked him out for it, but in a dream they were received a revelation from God that they must let him back in. To be fair, in terms of historical accuracy, the legend is quite weak.
God sees what is in my heart and my mind. I pray without ceasing. The only meaning confession has for me is to be totally honest, withholding nothing from my brother or myself. Every moment of every day a Holy encounter.
