Go back n read the crap you've been Posting/Think of what the War was really over/then you tell me...*g*
you said it best..most people don't know what they are talking about..they just heard on the news it was a symbol of racisim
I suppose it helps to be educated about something before you go spouting your opinions and misleading information as if were the undisputable truth.
Most of you have the right idea... the civil war was largely about slavery, but it certainly wasn't a teary eyed plea for civility by the North. Only a very small number of northereners objected to slave labor, no more then in the south, it was a labor dispute, farmers in northeren states didn't want to compete with goods produced through slave labor, so they made it illegal. There were many other prior labor disputes which lead to the build up of tentions which lead to the succesion of the confederacy. Ultimately slavery was made illegal, which was very good, but still continued for another half century. 700,000 people died over a labor dispute. Neither side was concerned for the welfare of the slaves, and theres nothing intrinsically more racist about having a confederate flag then waiving the US flag. I don't do the confederate flag thing though... I live in the south, and think its kinda dumb as hell. I've never been one for patriotism anyway.
okay, which one of you rotten bastid's went and dug this old ass shit up? I spit on the confederate flag. I spit on the amerikan flag. I'd probably spit on any other flag too, if I ever got close enough to one. All that shit does is make people think they're somehow a little better than others because of where they were born. okay, I don't really spit, I'm too girly and non-skanky for that sort of grossness.
I've always hated patriotism too. All Countries suck anyway... I consider myself a resident of Jupiters moon Io. Boiling Seas of methane, pouring rain of sulfur dioxide. What more could a guy want.
