Looks like Youtube is about to stick a bunch more ads in the middle of videos. Sounds desperate, stocks must be droppng.

Why more ads

 

I have Javascript turned off for most news websites because I don't want to watch their stupid fuckin' videos, nor do I want everything moved around while I'm trying to read, nor do I want to subscribe, nor do I care that you're using cookies, nor do I want to wait until the ads are loaded... I just want to read the fuckin' article! And turning off Javascript allows me to do that, although sometimes the formatting is a little ugly. And if there's a video of the story, usually they have a Twitter link where it's easier to just watch the video and not get bombarded with a bunch of other crap.

YouTube is getting a bit annoying with their increased ads. I guess they want us to pay to get rid of them.

It used to be that PBS didn't have any ads. Those days are gone, but at least you can fast-forward through them. I would guess, the days when we're allowed to do that are numbered.

 

Considering how YouTube has de-monetized a bunch of stuff already, I don't see why they would burn the rest of us with more ads to make up for lost revenue.

I disabled all auto-updates on my winschtik system long ago. I don't know if you can even do that today with win10.

 

I got a youtube ad blocker extension for chrome. It's far from perfect, many videos go to this screen for about 5 seconds upon loading where it looks like it's not going to load but it works and I'll take the 5 second inconvenience before the video loads rather than multiple 30 second inconveniences throughout a video.

 

Youtube is crazy fucking bullshit on so many levels.

A scientist using facts and logic got his video removed for debunking some crazy conspiracy nutjob who claimed face masks depleted your oxygen. The NUTJOB idiot video stays up and the scientific video is banned. And youtube claims the science guy is spreading medical misinformation!! It's absolute insanity.



Next time you see a Youtube video that is an absolute dishonest scam, look at the messages and see if they are all positive remarks from MORONS who don't know any better. Then try and post a message politely explaining why this video is fake. Now open a private window of that same video, where you are NOT signed in, and see if you can find your message. You might be surprised to find out that YOU are the only person who ever views YOUR comment!
