I've heard of a "page" being 900 hits (old source would'nt sell me more at once) comprised of 9 sheets/90 strips. so who knows, it's the drug world, I think the only "standardized" thing is pharms.

All modern printers leave a pattern of invisible (or nearly so) yellow (and maybe other colours) dots that are unique to that printer.

It better be a printer that was purchased by someone many hops away from you, in a state you've never been to, in a remote russion province that you've also never been to.

I don't know when this was instituted, but a pretty long time ago, I'm pretty sure.... because it would be immediately obvious to people leaving anonymous notes or letters, like blackmail or whatever, that they could avoid the unique wear patterns of typewriters with a printer. I wouldn't be suprised if all printers ever made have some sort of fingerprint built in. Unless you dig through the CIA's dumpster, then you might get a special blackmail-printer.

Uhhm, do you have any idea how crappy a picture printed on blotter paper on an inkjet printer would look, and sorry, but I'm not going to consume laser toner.

The best way to print on blotter paper is to use a good old fashion offset press. You will get nice clean lines, the ink has enough body to it that it won't absorb into the paper the way inkjet ink does (it's mostly water/alcohol).

The best thing of all is if your savvy you just mix the LSD into the ink in a ratio that yields the desired dosage, then you print and lay the acid in one procedure, but you really have to know your shit about both laying LSD and printing. It affords a lot of diversity in what you can do, but can be wasteful of product if not careful, probably why it never was really adopted as a common method.

It works though, I've had a few different blotters produced this way in the 70's, and yes there are food safe inks you can use.:2thumbsup:

You surprise me again Sir. A bit of printing background too?

Absolutely correct about inkjets, offset or litho works best and exactly that, inkjet ink is too thin.
For about 3 decades now the environmentally pc inks are soy based. Not that that makes them safer to ingest. The amount of ink we're talking about on blotter art is negligable.

Yup, guilty as charged. Ran a MultiGraphics 2650 double header two color press for a couple a few years, then also worked with some other beastly piece o' shit double header sheet fed press with the fucking print drum sitting right on top of each other. PAIN IN THE ASS TO WORK ON! Then a few months running a WEB press, then I said "Fuck ink under my fingernails!" and went to work for Rong-Aid for about $16000 more a year.

Then there is about 2-3 dozen different bindery machines I know.

In work it has been retail management, printing or computer tech and a couple of times all 3 hats at the same job :).

But nowadays the wife and I have our own business going. Been at it almost three years now and it is just starting to get going.
It has to do with elementary schools so this is our "season".
Just deposited a little over $7000 in payments in the last three days, and it's only two weeks into the school year. :D

Oops, old fart that I am, got rambling off on a tangent again.

oh, one last thing, the best blotter I ever had made on a press the guy made up his own "ink" using all food items. it was more like cake frosting than ink and when it dried it was like those little candy dots kids get on paper. It was pink and purple daisy's and it was laid on the sheet, not soaked in. You could peel it off and toss the paper if you wanted. Only ever saw LSD like that once, but it was a special run. :D
