Durex were not amused when I suggested a similar advert for the UK. I have never been able to find the funniest one that we came across from the archives. It was simply a picture of the packs, along with an offstage voice. For the young man starting out, we have the 2 pack. .....One for Friday and one for Saturday night. For the student living at college, we have the 5 pack. .....2 for Friday, 2 for Saturday and still one left for Sunday morning. Then for the mature family man, we now have the 12 pack. .....One for January,..... One for February..............................................................
The 12 years I spent on that project amused everyone. except Jane. It all came to a head when I was asked to build a new vending machine, costing around £100. My new machine stocked 40 lines, gave change, accepted credit and debit card payments. As well as banknotes in sterling, Euros and American dollars being accepted, it gave change in sterling. I installed 20 machines at Heathrow and the company were delighted with the 1.200% increase in sales. However the cost of the machines, electricity supply and telephone connection was around £3,000 per machine. Needless to say, I got my marching orders.....Killjoys......
