Yes, a cat3 hurricane would be enough to cause big trouble in those areas, dont even need a cat5. Next is tropical cyclone and possible hurricane KATIA which is unfortunately starting to get hyped in the media again. tracking map KATIA http://www.wunderground.com/tropical/tracking/at201112.html
Currently all of the computer models have Katia on a b-line for the United States - oh, how convenient H
Hi orison you mean this? just shows the different future paths of the hurricane the models are currently calculating
wiil be a fish storm if it turns north europe will have to handle the effects of ex- Irene in some days off its west coasts after it passed the Atlantic
Here in the U.S. we like to be scared and it only takes a few squiggly lines on a map to get millions to board up their homes, purchase a portable generator, and stock up on food and bottled water ~sigh~ h
hitting d.c. and nyc was amazing. best thing on tv in ages. sorry i wasn't there. well probably get a good earthquake out here in cali one of these days. too bad about the covered bridges in vermont though. i've got a cousin (close to my own age) who lives there but i don't have a phone that works so i have no idea how she and her husband did, or my one surviving aunt (who must be in her 90s. she was the one who always sent me something for my birthday, and made it to my wedding, even though ive only seen any of them less then a hadful of times after i turned 3 and my parents and i moved out here), who i don't remember if she's in jersey or florida. i think, for the number of people and densely populated areas, affected by it, can reasonably be called the storm of the century. well certainly of the only that's only a decade old, but i mean including the previous one too. its seldom, even on network news, you get to see real things happening in real places, it was so the best thing i can remember seeing on tv in ages.
