CCSU is a fun school to go down and party UVM - its alright, had much more fun at St. Mikes though. plus, burlington's nightlife isn't all that fun for under 21 from what i remember unless you can get inot 21+ places. found some pretty cool stoner house parties up in the area though. plus, canada is very close. take the time to find the right school for you - make sure it has the academics you want along with the social life, clubs, and what not.
i'm a communications major but that could always change. still don't know what i want to do but right now i'm thinking about working for a radio station since i'm a Dj at the school radio station. but no matter what i do i'm thinking about going into the peace corps first. what about you, you in school?
I was looking at the Peace Corps for after, too If you've got a certain government grant you can get a shit ton of your tuition paid
Holy shit, Connor... you would go for something in the medical/dental field. You smart mother fucker!
I want to be an orthodontist, make loads of money for just putting on kid's braces and tightening them every few months.
No definitely not the only reason. Burlington is an awesome city, smallest biggest city of a state. There are 7 headshops within a one mile walking distance of main street, and there is an annual glassblowing competition that is covered by Glass Aficionado Magazine. The Magic Hat microbrewery is also located in Burlington and my do they have some great beer. Burlington has easy access to ski slopes, awesome fall foliage, and just all around is a great outdoors city. It is also located within a short drive from Montreal and Boston.
I did terrible on the ACT. I have less than a 2.8 GPA too. I plan on going to a community college my first two years and hopefully if I do well there I can move on to a university. I highly recommend this option. It's a cheap alternative to get your basics out of the way and plus it's easier. Who knows what will happen in 3 years. I'll probably be rollin in the Benjamins by then playing online poker and whatnot.
college admissons officer- 60% SAT scores 25% grade point average 10% essay/ personal statement 5% community service/activites use that to prioritize what you need to accomplish in order to be accepted. SAT is most important, its a simple easily understood number that represents how intelligent you are. grades are used to determine if your a good student or not. grades are so inflated now, that some universities won't acknolwedge them. i had a 3.4 gpa, 1980 SAT, a few service activities, and 2 sports throughout high school. i am now a bilogy major looking to go to medical school. honestly, its not very difficult to get in to college, just be a good student.
I wouldnt worry about shit, in highschool I failed everything, I skipped my sat's and skipped like my whole last year. My guidance counselor told me to drop out. I went to community college, got all A's got on the deans list, and got into a program that would allow me to get into any state college of my choosing in all of MA, well now im 7 courses away from my bachelors, and by the time ill be at my ten year reunion I will have my Masters. its a lot of shit, dont sweat it.
after spending 4 1/2 years at a private university - pissing away money, most likely i'll be going back to a community college around boston or hopefully get most of my credits transfered to UMass Boston
