This little ditty at the beginning of this movie is priceless. If you notice, the guy pushing the wheel barrel is about to faint, while the girl behind him is there just to motivate him to work harder, and faints instead. She is immediately replace with another girl who dances around him with fists full of little wooden blocks with party rhetoric painted on them. They are metaphors to inspire him to be happy and work harder, because he can trust the party to take care of the people and not be corrupted. I have yet to watch the entire thing, but it is classic so far. Even the plot, pokes fun at the Chinese being rather gullible when it comes to dinosaur bones, magic, and monsters. We prefer science fiction and superheroes, while their superheroes tend to be more magical and fly through the air even more than ours. Modern Chinese are different from their ancestors, whose language itself promoted the idea everything is alive and constantly growing and decaying. They've adopted a more western view over the centuries, as a way to develop their technology which has some unique advantages in analog logic and quantum mechanics.
They still haven't agreed on who owns the dictionary, so fuck em. Richard Dawkins even made up his own nonsense word, because the idiots never learned how to share their words and play nice.

So tell me something, is this world moving towards a one world government? That’s what my higherself tells me and I just can’t see everyone being that idiotic...
Think of Star Wars and Star Trek combined. Star Trek is a meritocracy, or rule by those who do good deeds, and the evidence all indicates that those who do good deeds live longer and thrive better in the long run. Star Wars implies a more magical and organic universe, and our knowledge and technology are about to take on a life of their own, raising humanity out of what Taoists call the "Yin World" or pretense that everything must make sense, when 42 is as good as it gets. Commander Data is about to become a real boy and blow everybody away, because you can also think of him as Q.
Keep marching forward following every order given to them through their programming, or by their superiors
I was afraid 'Collectivist Humor' meant that jokes would be written by the government and the masses would be forced to laugh.
Chinese government censorship is infamous, in part, because the Chinese know a million jokes, most of which you'd never recognize without someone pointing them out. Being collectivists, they know damned well that conservative government flunkies have stunted senses of humor, while their's is through the fucking roof. Some of their music videos are a riot if you like their sense of humor. Its really bizarre, simultaneously so conservative it hurts, and as wild as it gets. The government knows they can't squash everybody's sense of humor, so they adopt some of it. Jet Lee, for example, has a wicked sense of conservative humor that his government loves to death. The Chinese government was paranoid as hell about him going to the US to participate in martial arts and warned him he would constantly be spied upon and recorded. In his motel room he looked in the mirror and said, "Gee, I'd like some chocolate, ice cream, etc." and then left only to have all the stuff magically appear in his hotel room when he came back. Only Jet can tell jokes like that with the innocent face of a child.
