you all watched it so the nfl obviously knew what they were doing...speciallly you matt...you seemed to watch real close lol you ARE the masses
Hey once a year it is ok to 'conform' The "Masses" are the ones who thought it was 100% real and spectacular
Viva La Vida is one of my all time, favourite songs. It sounds eerily similar to Joe Satriani's "If I Could Fly", which is another great track. I've heard Satriani actually sued Coldplay for plagiarism over the whole thing. After hearing Chris Martin sing yesterday, though, it is quite apparent that his music is very produced. Sad, but not uncommon these days.
I never watched any of that crap but I think I saw a picture of David Bowie singing the anthem. Thought he was dead?
Woah, I checked out that Satriani song they do sound really similar for that main riff. Although, they have a mash up of the two songs on the youtube and it doesn't really retain the same feel of the Coldplay song. The guitar lick on "Talk" uses a Kraftwerk melody but I think they got permission for that song.
I do think it is pretty curious that a billionaire celebrity who hangs out with the same white music producers who try to push this ghetto, lil Wayne image of the black man to the masses instead of real, intellectual black artists and who gladly takes advertising money from huge multinational companies is all of a sudden trying to be the voice of black people living in poverty. Yeah right, no one is buying that bey.
If the visual aspect of a musician's show is the best part of it, it means the music simply is not great. I haven't enjoyed any music of Coldplay or Beyonce for years. To me it seems they're mainly so succesful because of past achievements and marketing, which merely triggers feelings of aversion in me. I hate a muscial act being perceived as great when it is other aspects that makes people find it great (like a message or the light show). At least give the credit where it's due then. I'm not sure nobody's buying it (or better said falling for it). If they wanna rile themselves up about the issue she was hinting at they will use it. Another part are simply gullible people who go along with anybody who seemingly defends their position and they also will say wow she's spreading the message/acknowledging the issue, so great!!! While in essence she's not saying shit (in this performance at least)
what is this "half-time show" you speak of or this "stupid bowl? hold on, let me get these rocks off me first........
My boyfriends a football nut. I wouldn't have been watching if he hadn't streamed it on the computer in the bedroom. I managed to ignore most of it and read but come on, once they were singing and dancing I couldn't help but watch it.
She has thunder thighs. And who would want to fuck her after that ugly, space alien looking dude has busted in her.
Ugh, I need to see this now. EWW! YUCK!! I thought that big ass zipper twat was going to spit open and have Dee Snider crawl out of it.
Almost all Super Bowl halftime shows in recent memory have had a heavy emphasis on the visual production, it's just a part of it really. I probably haven't listened to a Coldplay album in over a decade, but I think they are good for what they are. Some memories and stuff are evoked from their music for me and I cannot say that about many other contemporary pop rock acts, so I understand the appeal. The halftime show is usually meant to be fairly wholesome and personally I'd rather have bands play then just choreographed pop stuff, and on that note, I'm thinking to what other bands they could have and beside some reunions perhaps, it seems like a pretty slim list.
Coldplay? I call em Shiteplay. And PR is right they're the epitomy of corporate shit. Does anyone actually like them? Watching Shiteplay at the SuperBowel must be an even worse form of torture.. I honestly think they're the result of corporate marketing rather than large numbers of people actually liking them. The music industry seems to be one big casting couch to be honest - gay and hetero. I know ravers who used to listen to them when coming down after a night out. Maybe its a subliminal thing, but fuck I hate them. They seem to be a "band" born to do the music for adverts. Or supermarkets. Or that music that used to come on when there was a technical fault with the TV channel.
