Did a spot of it this morning rolling out my trash cans for collection; felt wonderful feeling the chilly blacktop squarely on my bare soles. Going barefoot is SO great!
Yep, your circulation improves, you become more resistant to the cold... Just overall improvement to the quality of your life.
Just experienced my first barefoot contact of the season with the snow. My feet are a little bit more tolerant than last year, but I am still along way from being comfortable barefoot in the snow. After two minutes the bottoms of my feet were feeling the cold burn. However once inside the burn went away quickly and while my feet are still cold, they are not uncomfortable. I will continue to cold barefoot because it is apart of my foot toughening so I can hike barefoot comfortably next season and beyond.
I am testing my cold limits today while working on a project in the barn. It is in the low 30’s and I have been barefoot for almost two hours. As long as I keep moving my feet are comfortable and I keep them out of the white stuff. Snow and frost feel much colder than the ground next to it. I am enjoying my project more because I am barefoot. If shoes become necessary (and they might) I will put them on.
It's a nice brisk 42F out there! A heavy sweater, and I'm ready to go barefoot. Mmmmmmmm, cold ground!
Today a few of my friends took me out for my birthday and we went to my favorite restaurant and yes I went barefoot and one of my friends wife also went barefoot it was a awesome birthday it was 55 degrees today great barefoot weather.
I would rather you not. I post photos to share the joy of being barefoot not to provoke a sexual response. There is a more appropriate form called Love and Sex. I enjoy sex as much or more than most. For me the joy of nudism and barefoot walking is non-sexual.
When it comes to walking barefoot in the dead of winter, in my case it's not a question of whether I (can) do it, but rather for how long, and under which circumstances I'll do it. Where I live, there's only so much stuff that I get to do in the outdoors at this time of the year, outside of taking short strolls around the fields or checking the chickens in their coop, so my dalliances with the bare soil and frost-covered grass are unfortunately of quite a short duration. I'll admit, the cold has bothered me greatly in the past, and while I can feel my endurance has increased, it's still something that I only choose to do in moderation. And with sub-zero temperatures (in degrees Celsius), only one brief spell of noteworthy snowfall since the late autumn, which resulted in a disappointingly small quantity of slush and mud (also not helped by the lack of any sort of persistent rain, by the way), my barefooting habits have become more of an indoor affair, I'm afraid. Not to mention that both evenings and mornings get quite dark at times I'd usually have some time that I can dedicate to barefoot activities, which can present an even bigger obstacle than just my feet being cold for too long, since I have to watch my step extra carefully, and that just prolongs the exposure to the chill - a predicament that I'm still only carefully trying to deal with. All that being said, I'm still feeling comfortable walking around in sandals, even in adverse weather, although I usually have a pair of socks on hand to accompany me. I was thinking, since I can still fit many of the old wool socks from my earlier days in Scouting (and those have been through a lot of rough stuff...) which I wouldn't be all too uncomfortable putting through the grinder again or even having to throw them away, that maybe I could increase the frequency of the times I'd leave my sandals laying by the wayside and go on short hikes in tougher terrain while doing a bit of "sockfooting" I reckon that an added layer of protection might have my feet jumping with joy for a little while longer in inclement conditions, such as skipping through puddles of near-freezing cold rainwater, stomping across soft, slushy farmland mud, or perhaps even wading through ankle-deep snow (I hope)! And if my feet get a bit worse for wear, I can always put my sandals back on for that last walk home. I know all this doesn't exactly fit a puritan definition of barefooting, but I guess that if it helps me last a couple more minutes without my feet going numb and leaving some more prints of my "bare" (*ehm*, socked) feet to giggle at, then maybe it's just worth a try...
Today I have walked approximately a mile and half barefoot in 35 F temperature. Half was done on grass the other half out in my woods. The woods was easier than the damp green grass. The woods was mostly leaves over sticks, occasional rocks and acorns. I feel like Iam well on my way to toughening my feet for trail hiking. Happy feet hiking day.
It’s awesome walking in cold weather barefoot and I do a little bit of barefoot hiking in the winter time I just wish I could find someone to go hiking with me. But yes you are on your way to toughen up your bare feet keep going your doing awesome.
I had to go to Walmart to pick up my new glasses and it’s been snowing here and yes I went in to Walmart barefoot like I always do and the lady that helped me ask me aren’t your feet cold I said no my bare feet are use to the winter cold and snow . She said that she has seen me barefoot in Walmart for a few years since she has been working there . And she ask if my wife or girlfriend is ok with me going barefoot and I told her I don’t have anyone and I really love my barefoot lifestyle it’s awesome she said that she loves going barefoot and she wishes she could go barefoot at work . I said there’s a lot of people that would love to go barefoot at work . So I got my glasses told her to have a great day and I left and the snow was coming down fastest which I love walking barefoot in snow so I got in my truck and came home.
