When I was a little girl, I would walk to my Grandmothers' house, and opposite, was this old lady, always beckoning me. I used to go over and help her with some menial task. Years later after she had passed away and I was married, I found out, that it was my husband's Grandmother. Then where I live now, my neighbour is a professor at the University who lectures on history. When I took some of my old Census returns, to his house for some understanding, he was amazed that his family lived next door!! Do you have any coincidences in your life?
I actually wrote a short story on that, it was published. I bet another coincidence would be that I am actually related to someone on this forum. As one of my Grandmothers seven sisters, emigrated to America. I have a photo with an address.
I get small coincidences all day long. I cant yet think of a special one but I am sure there are tons when I have a think about it. hahahahahahahaha
I have been mistaken for someone at times. I laugh then find out, it was someone I knew. Strange or what?
That is coincidental but have you noticed it keeps happening to you? Is that a coincidental coincidence?
Hold on! This is not the confusing thread. lol Could it be a coincidence that we hit it off the day you joined? xxx
I used to work with a guy who used to tell me about another guy he worked with at one time who got electrocuted (but didn't die) when he was taking a bath and a radio fell into the tub. Then about ten years later my son was working at some restaurant and I had to go pick him up when he got off work. It was at night. I pull into the parking lot and he's trying to help some older gentleman change a tire on an old car. But the guy left his spare at home. So "I say, Jump in and we'll go get it." As I'm driving we start talking and I find out this is the guy that got electrocuted! Not only that but he grew up in a little old town about a quarter mile from my parents house, where I grew up! And we're over 200 miles away from it! Here it is.... Never saw him again after that night.
yup, I slightly unpleasant one...me and my Mum were both diagnosed with having brain tumours at around about the same time.....thank god for the NHS!
i grew up in a small town in ohio of about 1400 people. in 8th grade i went on vacation in florida (about 1000 miles away, for you foreigners) and ran into my 7th grade basketball coach. eventually i graduated from high school with 47 other people. the next year i went back to florida for spring break, and about 2 hours into the first day i ran into four of my old friends from my graduating class.
It's always strange seeing people like that--unexpectedly and out of context. Like "hey, you don't belong here.." Especially if you don't know the person very well.
After Jane complained that operas were always sung in foreign languages, I took her to the London Coliseum to watch La Traviata sung by the English National opera. During the interval, she casually remarked that Violetta was being sung by the girl who sat next to at her primary school in a remote part of Ireland. Jane knew that she enjoyed singing, but had no idea that she had taken up professional opera or moved to London.
