Beans and rice does not exist for white people born in Canada. That is a fact.

Although it is highly delicious. :O

I won't actually feel rich until I have a satin smoking jacket and driving gloves made from human leather.

Beans and rice sounds interesting and maybe one day I'll find a recipe that sounds good.

Grits are another thing white people in Canada know not of...

You need a southern man to show you the intricacies of grits.

grits with butter, salt and pepper, with a side of some well done bacon and maybe a little fruit, with a cup of coffee is a wonderful breakfast

    Ahaha.

I'm actually a bit obsessed with the South, have been for a few years now...

I've made/had beans and rice plenty of times, at home and when I'm there.

Whenever I'm in Kentucky/Tennessee for Bonnaroo - yeaaaaaah.

AND I make sure to bring home a few pounds of grits, and Luzianne tea.

I have to grow my own okra too. :( I can't find it in stores here.

I'm pretty sure No Frills carries okra...fresh and frozen. Poke out my eye and cut off my arm if I'm wrong.
