Well.... I am very interested in where journalism as an internet medium is heading. But at the same time, I feel like due to major media consolidation journalism is essentially dead. But again, due to internet journalism I feel it can be revived. At this specific time in history, however, I am not sure journalism is the government watchdog it was meant to be. One day, in the near future, I hope this will change very drastically.
HRC claimed that bullets were whizzing over their heads. One does not simply misremember being under sniper fire when in fact it never happened.
Here's the partial quote: I apologize I had thought the first sentence, "Likely as not, Clinton will not beat Donald Trump", had some relation to the second, "She is too scandalous, too corrupt, independents don't like her, the majority of people find her untrustworthy." I can see now that they are not related at all. I would suggest that the next time the two sentences are placed in different paragraphs as the accepted rule for paragraphs is that all the sentences contained in them relate to the same topic. That is why we use the paragraph format. Now You have me wondering who he was comparing her "too scandalous, too corrupt" nature to, as it can't be Trump who is mentioned in the first sentence as the person she can't beat?
I love it when you two fight over me. xoxo Man, with this new knowledge you're providing meagain, we're never going to be able to know if anyone is lying ever again. Anybody's memory can just flip like a switch. If you're planning on arguing with me about anything I just said, I never said any of it.
I'm not going to split hairs about false memories, etc. Maybe she did have some false memories (about a lot of things) but I'm just going ask myself a couple of common sense questions. Have I or anyone I know ever told a story and happened to remember sniper fire wizzing past our heads when it never happened? No. If someone told me a story like that and I found out later that it never happened, would my first reaction be to just think they were full of shit or would I bust out some medical studies and dissect them for reasons to explain why this poor person must be afflicted with false memories? I'd probably just say they were full of shit. And as far as false memories go.....you lose a lot of credibility when you have something to gain from your false memory.
And I would just say, have you read any of the links I posted? Do you know of any scientific studies that counter the examples I posted? Do you know that some false memories unintentionally do enhance the person's self esteem? Do you claim to have perfect memory? Have you ever been on an airplane that landed in a war zone? And I quit...believe what you want...obviously my pointing out scientific reasons why false memories can occur has no meaning to many people. Everyone has perfect memory recall, science proves nothing.
I never said I had a perfect memory or that she didn't have false memories. As much as you want to accuse everyone of holding her to a different standard.....why shouldn't I apply the same standard of bullshit detection to her that I apply to myself, my wife, my friends and literally every single person who speaks to me at any length though out the day? Why should I just say "Oh yeah.....that's just one of her darned false memories again. Not her fault" when I wouldn't do that with anyone else and, given everything I've posted, why would you possibly think I would do that?
I will not vote for either of them. That is the most ethical choice. If I actuly did vote for one I would never forgive myself. Bernie will be a write in or I will just not mail anything. I don't fall for that throw away nonsense. Like I should be pressured to pick one because oh no the other one is worse. No it's far worse to pick one. Hillary is afraid I will not Trump does not need me. George Carlin sums it up much better than I can. http://youtu.be/xIraCchPDhk
Exactly my point, I have seen false memories occur among my family and friends numerous times. We often get into discussions about how we remember different events because the memories often differ. And I never stop and think, "Now what does so and so have to gain from remembering it that way?" So I apply the same standard to Hillary, maybe that's how she remembers it...so what. But I'm done, believe what you will....you seem to think that if anyone has a false memory they're just trying to bull shit you. Fair enough, I don't take such a dim view of people.
It could happen and probably does. This seems very possible..... Me: Remember that time in 1997 when we were fishing and my rod broke? Friend: I thought it was Jim's rod that broke? I don't think it was yours. Me: Hmm....maybe it was Jim's. It was pretty funny either way. Totally possible and understandable. But let's change it a bit and assume I have something to gain for being brave. Me: Remember that time in 1997 when we were fishing and a sniper shot my rod in half? Friend: What the fuck are you talking about? Me: The sniper!! Friend: There was no sniper. It was in Iowa during a time of extreme peacefulness. Me: I remember a sniper. Maybe I just misremembered it. I should be president! See? It just sets off the bullshit detection alarm. It doesn't fly.
It’s finally over according to AP AP count: Clinton has delegates to win Democratic nomination LOS ANGELES (AP) — Striding into history, Hillary Clinton will become the first woman to top the presidential ticket of a major U.S. political party, capturing commitments Monday from the number of delegates needed to win the Democratic nomination. Clinton's rise to presumptive nominee arrived nearly eight years to the day after she conceded her first White House campaign to Barack Obama. Back then, she famously noted her inability to "shatter that highest, hardest glass ceiling." Campaigning this time as the loyal successor to the nation's first black president, Clinton held off a surprisingly strong challenge from Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders. He mobilized millions with a fervently liberal message and his insurgent candidacy revealed a deep level of national frustration with politics-as-usual, even among Democrats who have controlled the White House since 2009. The former secretary of state, New York senator and first lady reached the 2,383 delegates needed to become the presumptive Democratic nominee on Monday with a decisive weekend victory in Puerto Rico and a burst of last-minute support from superdelegates. Those are party officials and officeholders, many of them eager to wrap up the primary amid preference polls showing her in a tightening race with presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump. Clinton has 1,812 pledged delegates won in primaries and caucuses. She also has the support of 571 superdelegates, according to an Associated Press count. Hotwater
Hillary doesnt have enough pledged delegates to go into th convention uncontested. Superdelegates havent voted yet. I'm not saying Bernie will get the nomination, but it is bullshit to call the election when polls are still open today. It is a dirty media trick to prevent people from voting today.
Nasty, and not even the first time such a trick gets played. Seems Clinton supporters can't wait for it to be settled... no matter how.
