Ranting is good. As long as it goes respectfully by both lol

I totally agree with that statement (colored red)

The safe space has happened all over, it is just to hard to list everyone.

That is why I see the revolution happening and coming from Trump supporters. If he does not gain the support of the RNC and Cruz and K push it to a contested parles; then his supporters will revolt. (green highlight)

He said it on Meet the Press (NBC 2016) but the content of the FN article was factual against other articles and thus I posted that link. Always good to compare news outlets especially with Independent News Org.

Bernie needed to run in '08 fresh off Bush jr or to be 25 yrs younger and aim for 2020

Care to explain how?? The government has only gotten continually bigger in size and scope, so far from the traditional definition of "right wing." I would say the opposite is true, and that things are further to the left than they have ever been.

Perhaps the general sentiment among the public is more right-leaning than before, but I say that is a result of failed left wing policies that are largely to blame for the mess this country is in. People are fed up, which is why Trump has such popular support. Unfortunately, people are misled to think he is going to be any different if he is elected into office.

I cannot think of a time, at least in my life, when the US has had a truly "conservative" president. Most of today's Republicans have policies almost identical to Democrats, except Republicans hide behind the mask of religion and "moral values" (both of which are a facade to rally support from their base and make you think their party is different from the other). Both parties are corporate owned and combine corporatism with big government socialism.

I mean, Obama is basically identical to the previous president. The only thing that is different is the image presented to the public. Obama is pretty much Dubya on steroids. I reckon the next president, regardless of if it's Clinton or Trump, will be even worse and further the current agenda (which never really changes) even more.

People throw these divisive terms like right and left around, but the fact is we live under a one party system, and things are never going to change until people wake up to that and stop taking sides.

Then the Civil rights movement came and abolished that. 50yrs later the same groups that wanted equality; are now screaming for segregation again. Except it is now called safe spaces. This fear is overblown and completely manufactured.

Different time:people and technology but always the same repetitive outcome. Then they wonder why nothing changes.

As the cliche' goes: History always Repeats.

You want to see blatant racism in todays world; the intervention of Aboriginals in the Australian NT to which has been extended to 2022: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tcq4oGL0wlI or read https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2011/05/ntin-m30.html

Black racism is not only allowed but encouraged by the system. But if you're white and you say anything remotely pertaining to issues of race, no matter how well intended you are, you're immediately deemed a bigot and silenced.

My girlfriend is a black woman from Nigeria. It's funny how the issue of race is so far at the back of her mind and other Africans I have met, whereas it has been ingrained into the minds of African-Americans and literally defines who they are. That's because the issue of race is being constantly shoved down our throats here in America, and it's for no other reason but to create the tension and division the system thrives on -- especially corrupt politicians like Hillary Clinton, who is far more racist than Donald Trump could ever dream of being, yet is never called out for her phony bullshit. Hillary Clinton continuously spits on black people while pretending to be their savior. It is absolutely disgusting, and it saddens me to see so many black people falling for it. She is a truly appalling human being (if you can even call her that).

American racism seems almost as if it is sort of a 'false flag' proposition. The one true conflict that will separate and consume people.

Absolutely. They cannot have the people of this country uniting, so they use things like race, politics, gender, class, etc. to keep us all divided and at each others throats. They're doing it more so now than ever before as things start to fall.

Exactly. Safe Spaces are for people who want to hide in their own bubbles of reality denial as the plug their ears, curl into a fetal position on the floor, while saying over and over "I'm offended. I'm triggered. I'm a victim of oppression." If we ever completely lose our freedom of speech entirely, it will be done by the hands of these people our college campuses are manufacturing.

It's getting to the point that whispering to each other in the barn late at night is the only safe way to say what we really think.

Maybe it's always been that way, and some people didn't know it.

Well yeah, i agree. There is a definite false dichotomy there. The establishment right isnt really for small government and the establishment left isnt necessarily for social freedom and equality.

But the establishment left is very much moderate centrists compared to the left wing in european nations. And i disagree with your view that left wing policies have destroyed america. I think both sides have had an equal hand in it.

Also, i agree with you that terms like left and right are divisive and essentially pointless in the lives of normal people but i use them for lack of anything else.

Hillary is clearly the presumptive favorite, It’s time for Sanders to drop out of the race and return to Vermont.

He can get back just in time to welcome 100 Syrian refugees to the city of Rutland.

Maybe it is something american? I have heard this comparison made that in the USA it is not that common to get to talk on the street about politics (unless perhaps during some kind of demonstration) or simply discuss it with others in public? I mean like with strangers. Here people with different views talk about it everywhere like it is the weather. I think that counts for most of Europe. Maybe the lack of guns make that possible? :p JK! ;)

Maybe because it is void of actual content or specific meaning.

Depends on the size of the city. If it's a small town and you don't want a hostile reaction, you better not say anything that sounds liberal. I don't hear a lot of political conversation in the larger cities, but what I do hear is more evenly divided between both parties. Political conversations here are much more common between people who have similar views.

I’ve had political conversations with people on buses and in pubs, and I used to put up my Green Party stall (a fold up wallpaper pasting table) and campaign on street corners which is quite common in British cities, and people do come up and chat, had some interesting discussion that way.

I’ve also done door to door campaigning which is more in your face and you get every viewpoint then and it’s great when you get a hearing although often all you get is along the lines of ‘fuck off’. (Too old these days to be standing around in the cold).

In some parts of rural America you don't even talk about the weather because someone will make it a political issue...

Rat, this country was way more left when Roosevelt was in office. He was reacting to another failure of the right to see what was necessary to help the regular citizens with some relief. CCC, Wpa and other programs were brought about and in addition, unions were STILL gaining some of the strength that were hard fought in the 20s-30s-etc. I think that this era is worse and more right-wing than the Mcarthy era. Kansas, Wisconsin and several other states are showing just how the right-wing works.
