Here's the problem, though: Without money, a lot of people are then denied their lives too. It's sickening to watch how a person's human rights seemingly get cancelled and cease to exist to their society, if their bank accounts run out of square shaped pieces of paper, with stupid pictures of numbers and dead presidents on them. If that happens, people don't even want to give you food anymore, because you're then a leech, a freeloader and a filthy bum with no value to your life. So people act cautious, and resist anything that could rob them of their precious paper chaff.

Wanna know the secret of stopping climate change? The monetary system has to change first. Nobody is going to care if the weather is a few degrees hotter, if at the same time they're struggling just to afford the basics.

Yes it is. I had gotten used to saying this is just the beginning, but the increased world temperatures make me wonder if we haven't crossed the threshold into the intermediate stage of climate change. If I sound cynical, I am.

Don't fall victim to the fake news. It's agenda-driven. There's big money to be had swindling the public. Some are falling hook, line, and sinker and perpetuating the alarmism. Climate has been changing since the forming of the Earth's crust. There is no pending emergency and no changes we can't accommodate with time. Be blessed and enjoy the time we're gifted.

Yes there's big money to be made swindling the public, as Trump proves non-stop. There's also big money to be made by telling the public that climate change is a myth and carrying on with business as usual, as greedy corporations prove non-stop.

Are you living off the government? That is, the working people paying taxes. If so then honestly, why care either way? You've got no skin in the game. You're not harmed by the ill effects of alarmist policy limiting freedom and lowering living standards for the working, nor by profits of any industries be they green, black, or indifferent. Nor are the rich affected either way. It's only the middle class working toward the old American dream of earning one's keep. Alarmist policies are widening the gap between the well off and the have nots by reducing the middle class. So obviously only the middle class really cares. We're beyond thinking maybe they believe they're doing the right thing. People know what's happening now, that the rich want more power and control and the poor are jealous and want to bring down to their level as many others as possible. They use all kinda tactics from fear to demonizing capitalism and free markets, as if profits don't motivate advancement and production, save lives, and increase living standards.

If you want to demonize something, how about warmongers and the industrial military complex? How about the healthcare industrial complex? Big pharma. Big food. There's a lot of damaging things happening. People incorporating and making profits isn't among them. Climate change isn't among them.

I’m horrified by how conservatives, big dirty industries, the rich all are ready to condemn all of us to an increasingly miserable existence…..science is not debating climate change any longer. It’s real, right now, and documented by a blizzard of data. I know the ignoranti have marshaled a propaganda campaign led by that media mogul from down under, but still. How callus.

Why so many are quick to condemn their children to apocalypse in exchange for making a few loud mouth peanut brained privileged creeps richer is truly baffling.

Keep paddling down that long river in Africa if you like, but the overwhelming consensus of climate scientists says we're in big trouble. https://phys.org/news/2021-08-climate-scientists-unequivocal-consensus-human-made.html And it's not just a natural cycle. The real swindlers are folks in the fossil fuel industry, like the Koch brothers, who funded decades of disinformation on the effects of their pollution.

What are you talking about? Your post makes no sense at all. The thread is about climate change. Seems to me that affects everybody. We all have "skin in the game." What policies are you characterizing as "alarmist"? You're the one characterizing legitimate concern about climate change as some kind of conspiracy on the part of the rich and poor against the hard-working middle class. I'm one of those hard-working middle class types who is concerned about having my house go up in flames. Do you have a science background?

We are not consigned to a misrable existince unless our government goes bankrupt. We can't fight for climate if we are broke.

How adorable; another Internet sub-genius who thinks they're smarter than 97% of the world's scientists.

    Haha river, good one!

So you don't think these "scientists" are getting paid to have these "opinions"???

Perhaps you have yet to learn that people were misled by this claim of "consensus". We all know there's changes in the climate happening all the time. We all suspect that emissions due to the population staying alive are contributing at some level. That's the consensus! There is no consensus that we're in dire straits, nor that any kind of emergency action is required on our part to secure our existence. Quite the contrary!

No, I think most scientists have professional integrity. Are you suggesting that most of them are corrupt and on the take? Where did you get such an idea? A few have been bought off by the fossil fuel industry to promote opinions like yours, just as a few were bought off by the tobacco industry when it was resisting the bad news linking smoking to cancer. “In the 1990s, oil companies, fossil fuel industry trade groups and their respective PR firms began positioning contrarian scientists such as Willie Soon, William Happer and David Legates as experts whose opinions on climate change should be considered equal and opposite to that of climate scientists.” https://www.climaterealityproject.o...ow-fossil-fuel-industry-blocks-climate-action

Their views were supplemented by the false reports of right wing think tanks like the Cato Institute, the Heritage Foundation, and the Heartland Institute, which are funded and often even created by fossil fuel companies. Perhaps you have yet to learn that people (like apparently you) were misled by this well-funded blitz.

There is a 97% consensus among climate scientists that human-induced climate change is a real problem. The view you share is from an outlier--not part of the consensus. As usual, you don't share your sources. But it sounds a lot like Judith Curry and her blog, Climate Etc which is rated as "pseudocience" by Media Bias/Fact Check for spreading anti-climate. Climate Etc – Judith Curry - Bias and Credibility propaganda. Many scientists agree she's peddling disinformation

    Judith Curry abandons science
Who do you think is paying the majority of climate scientists to produce a false consensus? George Soros? The Rothschilds? The Deep State?
