This was my reply that i post again here Here is some background This is the headline attached to a report produced by one Professor Ross McKitrick an economist and fellow of the Fraser Institute , he also seems to have a creationist bent been a signatory to the “Evangelical Declaration on Global Warming” which states “We believe Earth and its ecosystems—created by God’s intelligent design and infinite power and sustained by His faithful providence…” The Fraser Institute is a right wing libertarian think tank an anti-regulation organisation promoting free market ideas – it has been funded by the likes of ExxonMobil, the right wing Donner foundation, the very right wing Scaife Foundation along with a bunch of other right wing foundations and surprise, surprise the notoriously right wing Koch brothers His ideas have been disputed and it seems to me this is just another example of the wealth sponsored propaganda machine I’ve mentioned before where right wing lobbyists produce reports that are disputed which are then present by the right wing media as if they were undisputed ‘fact’. * http://www.climatesciencewatch.org/2014/06/19/ross-mckitrick-fails-to-move-the-goalposts/
You can not show me one study that says man made global warming is happening. Every thing is based on models and those models are wrong. Climate change...yes is happening because that is what happens to the earth as it has gone on for millions of years.
Kind of irrelevant considering recent defacto agreements on greenhouse gas emissions. World policy is in fact that it is real. What to do and if anythings needs to be done about it remains open to debate.
Who gives a shit what caused it... If there's no study you believe then that means it's not happening?
Well you can see that Earth's temps have not increased in several years, yet there is "warming"? You want to so believe what Al Gore has spoon feed you for years and the basis of a key argument is that even when facts refute what you believe you fail to see it.
The "talking points" went from Global Warming to Climate Change to Climate Disruption. Give me a break, change the words to try to fit what is going on. Maybe just maybe the science and models behind this farce is wrong.
Well it seems to me that at first the line coming from the right was all out denial - the message being ‘nothing should be done’ no need for taxes, regulations and stuff that might be detrimental to wealth. But then as the evidence grew it started up on the idea that it was happening but it was natural - the message being ‘nothing can be done’ so no need for taxes, regulations and stuff that might be detrimental to wealth. "Earlier this year, the economist Andrew Lilico argued in the Telegraph that we cannot afford to prevent escalating climate change, so instead we must learn to live with it. He was challenged on Twitter to explain how people in the tropics might adapt to a world in which four degrees of global warming had taken place. He replied: “I imagine tropics adapt to 4C world by being wastelands with few folk living in them. Why’s that not an option?” Re-reading Lilico’s article in the light of this comment, I realised that it hinged on the word “we”. When the headline maintained that “We have failed to prevent global warming, so we must adapt to it”, the “we” referred in these instances to different people. We who live in the rich world can brook no taxation to encourage green energy, or regulation to discourage the consumption of fossil fuels. We cannot adapt even to an extra penny of taxation. But the other “we”, which turns out to mean “they” – the people of the tropics – can and must adapt to the loss of their homes, their land and their lives, as entire regions become wastelands." Normal earth cycle as has been proven from ice core samples. It has nothing to do with wealth or wealthy. So have been so blinded my whatever media outlet you get news from that you believe the right is in some kind of class war. because the right does not want to give corporations high taxes which will funnel down to the working class and poor does not mean they are against lower classes.
The well documented rise in co2 concentrations since the seventies is not a normal earth climate cycle. They are directly attributable to human industrial activity. Those concentrations are higher than in any ice core sample.
To me, this is almost like an IQ test. I don't think anybody denies that a lot of artificially produced CO2 is coming out of tailpipes and smokestacks every minute of every day, and the average high school science teacher should be able to go into a lab, set up an experiment, and accurately measure how much more heat CO2 traps and holds, compared to an average mixture of air. It's been a known thing for decades. Nobody on the far right is going to touch those two points. They never do.
There is no point, yes CO2 levels have been on the increase for years and years yet based on actual evidence of the earth tempture it has not risen since 1995. It has held stead with the average that is should be. Models that were used were under the assumption that the temp would increase, yet that has not happened. When the earth has a rise in temps the sun was in a very active cycle which allowed more heat to reach the earth, thus causing temps to increase.
That is a lie, if you actually look at what earth's temps have done, as opposed to what sounds best with your agenda. Beyond that, climate change can be every bit as disastrous without a net temp increase. Individual worked, so they sent another shill, paid by the post... Yeah, it's still denied, but we've got to get past that shit - we, not the deniers - they know perfectly well what they're doing, and it only works because everyone looks at them - lets stop looking at them. Yeah, congress are going to try to fuck the climate and everything else, but what else is new? Hopefully with republicans actually putting their name on their bad ideas and welfare for the wealthy (instead of the democrats doing it and happily taking responsibility, like it will give them some right wing cred) they'll go down hard in 2016. There's a flat earth society, but we don't feel the need to address them every time any matter that involves the spherical nature of earth is discussed. In science, global warming denial is a laughingstock perpetrated by corporate shills and purchased studies, and even among laypeople, global warming is pretty much understood as a fact - there are the "people don't cause it" guys, but they're just trying to make themselves feel better and absolve themselves of any responsibility of worrying about it - it doesn't feel good to worry (feel guilty even) about things you have no direct control over - but if people feel like they do have responsibility and control, through good representative (read: not wealth-fellatiating) government, it would help that a lot.
Yeah so what's a lie buddy? New data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration show atmospheric carbon dioxide levels are continuing to rise but global temperatures are not following suit. The new data undercut assertions that atmospheric carbon dioxide is causing a global warming crisis. NOAA data show atmospheric carbon dioxide levels rose 2.67 parts per million in 2012, to 395 ppm. The jump was the second highest since 1959, when scientists began measuring atmospheric carbon dioxide levels. http://www.forbes.com/sites/jamestaylor/2013/03/06/as-carbon-dioxide-levels-continue-to-rise-global-temperatures-are-not-following-suit/
lolllll what is that, an op-ed, with forbes? I'll read that, right as soon as I finish getting my real news from the onion.
Al who? I'm not going to play your "Who's to blame" bullshit... You want to play that, go play with yourself.
