Perhaps, but Sir Tom was the hero in this instance...we all know Boris is kind sad and doesn't wash, wears the same old socks forever because they are lucky... the list is endless.

Agree totally that Boris and his gang of clowns have fucked up this countries Covid response.
I hope that in the future they have to face criminal prosecutions .

That should not stop the rest of the country showing the respect and he rightly deserves to be shown.

Some people cant help themselves ! its not about politics its about a man that did something positive to help rather than sat on a keyboard moaning about everything !!

    RIP to a big man

When the PM is on national television leading the clapping, it's about politics.

Johnson might as well have said: "Well done mate, sorry I killed you off."

So you would rather him not Clapping ?? He is The PM of the united Kingdom
only think killed him was a virus that's killing people all over the world whoever the countries leaders are or its politics !

The UK has Vaccinated 10 Million of its people, has that been done so Boris can say " Well done mate, sorry I killed you off."
Would you rather Live somewhere where life is cheap and nobody comes out to clap for the guy ?

only persons trying to make it political are the keyboard warriors who will use any tragedy as an excuse for a rant against those in power

The Media are a completely different thing IMO they would have (like you ) loved him not to applaud the guy " He was an Old Soldier " not a political tool

As you know Mally I am not a fan of this government or the Tories in general. I would rather Johnson had hidden in a fridge like he usually does. You seem to fail to see the dark irony of a man who died perhaps directly because of his government's mistakes, and the same government praising his heroism, and getting the whole country to do the same thing. That's the bullshit. Sir Tom raised £32 million for the NHS, which was fantastic. But meanwhile the Tories have been quietly selling off more and more of the NHS to private companies run by them and their mates from Eton. That's the bullshit as well.

    And I agree with that!
I don’t really understand why anyone would want to start a crass ill thought out miserable little poxy thread like this in order to try and score some absolutely stupid crass doggon' awful political points.
    Shame on you Joshua.
    Shame on you.

    PS.
I hope some great big British Bulldog comes along and pisses and shits on your tree, and then for a hurricane to come along and blow the bastard down!:p

Is it cynical, or is it true? Maybe both.

I stood outside my front door and clapped for the NHS a few times, until NHS staff started saying they didn't want to be clapped, they wanted to be properly paid and staffed. I saw their point.

All public services are underfunded - more and more low wages and volunteer working are creeping into the sectors of emergency working.
Clapping, to show appreciation is a short, easy to thing to do paying only a brief acknowledgement of what many say is from a guilty governement - and far cheaper than paying a reasonable wage.
I know a number of Emergency workers that prior to the pandemic were taking second jobs to make ends meet -and now unable to do so ,,,, because of - exhaustion
