ya who would want to admit that. and doctors don't want to admit that because they have been doing it for over 150 year. and the jews won't ever admit that its wrong because its in there bible. but we must admit that circumcision is wrong.
just because its a tradition does not make it right. other barbaric traditions include
    *slavery
    *foot binding
    *female circumcision

Other traditions that are wrong and barbaric:

Spending free time and resources on the internet telling people their dicks are mutilated while children around the world starve.

    TheMadcapSyd your a moron
there starving are people in the world. that is undisputed. people are starving because. they or there government or culture refuse to make the effort to learn the basic science and Agricultural skills needed to grow what they need.
    *this is off topic though

if you are pro circumcision then you endorse causing severe pain to babies. justify the pain however you wish. but the baby still goes through incredible pain.

if your god commands you to painfully remove a properly functional part. that he put there. then that god is a bigot and a incompetent moron. such a being deserves no respect

The so called 'pain' of circumcision is not very great. The benefits make it a worthwhile procedure.

The pain of inoculation for disease prevention does not negate the benefits; it is brief and non-severe, making it a non-issue for the rational.

This is why the melodramatic hysteria of so many in this thread who blubber 'mutilation' and 'violence against babies' carries no weight in the civilized world. It's just petulance.

"The so called 'pain' of circumcision is not very great" have you never seen one being done. circumcision causes so much pain that the baby goes into neural shock. worldsofdarkblue your post is insulting and it shows your ignorance of this subject. watch a circumcision and then tell me its not painful. the civilized world i would hope would not torture babies

Circumcised men would say you're wrong, especially considering most cut men in the world were cut at an old enough age to remember it.

You're just plain goofy. I've witnessed a bris and there was no neural shock. Where the fuck do you jerkoffs come up with this stuff?

what? most men in the world are circumcised as babies. and the ones that are circumcised later either have painmeds or ask for the procedure.

I love my circumcised penis. It's beautiful, it's CLEAN, and I would not have it any other way. My parter is uncircumcised and usually has to be very avid about cleaning it, the skin I guess holds in moisture and creates and unwanted smell if he doesn't. Bacteria is also gets stuck there in the foreskin. Obviously it's the parents right to decide whether the procedure is necessary for their children. Although I am an avid believer that social restraints should not effect most decisions, in a child's mind not being circumcised can cause certain psychological problems. I knew a guy in my younger days who was never circumcised and was very sensitive about the subject. He decided to go through the procedure at 18 years old... I think it was a botched job or maybe the risks are greater at older ages, i'm not sure about all the facts, but his penis was very red even and he experience a lot of problems even 2 years after the procedure and it made him even more crazy... This leads me to believe it's probably better to get it done at an early age, instead of letting the child decide later in life. There are pros and cons for both sides, but for me the pros weigh out the cons and leads me to believe that circumcision is probably the best way to go. Obviously it's not essential, but it definitely has unarguable medical benifits.

In Muslim countries, where most circumcised men are, it's often done as a rite of passage between the ages or 4-10, so no.

No, it has no medical benefits whatsoever. It's like snipping off a pinkie toe or earlobe and saying "Well otherwise you'd have to keep it clean and who wants to do that?".
