circumcision

Can't be arsed to read through the whole thread. Am I correct in thinking someone's got themselves circumcised over the age of 2? Blimey!

 

i'm against circumcision. it's unnecessary.

 

....leave it to the u.s. to be the only country still performing something like this.... it blows....

yeh and if it is a religious ritual, what're we saying, that God made a mistake with the foreskin?

I will say what I said in the other forum on this very subject and that was....some uncut guys may get stuck with a raw deal especially if they arent well endowed....I am uncut (thank my openminded parents for that) and couldnt be happier. For the guys who arent very well endowed though Im sure at times their's probably looks like a scared turtle in its shell. Mine you can't tell at first glance, and I guess on the bright side, lube is not necesary for masturbation in a lot of cases cuz the foreskin moves up and down slightly. By the way, sex is great and i have no problems lasting and think that the moving action may actually help to stimulate the girl more. Foreskin or not, if you dont practice decent hygiene you will be dirty simple as that.

Of course if it bothers you, I say do what you please, but the cultural/religion excuse seems kind of absurd (like god made a mistake) Like someone sorta said, its the man that makes the penis not the other way around unless its small, then I guess you better learn some great moves in bed to keep those ladies happy.

 

I like being circumcised. And I don't buy the 'let him decide for himself' argument because of course he isn't going to want to when he is older, but that doesn't mean he wouldn't want to have had it done when he was a baby and wouldn't remember.

I'm not religious but I will recommend any sons I have be circumcised for a cultural reason, namely I want to differentiate him from the people who believe we shouldn't question the design of God or nature. Modifying nature is our defining trait as humans. This power over nature can be abused of course, but to me the cut is a symbol that IF USED WISELY our intellects CAN improve nature for our purposes without destroying it. (I proudly drink cows milk for this reason as well...and is it natural to burn a plant and inhale it? To inject dye under your skin? To stare at a piece of glowing glass for conversation? I think not.)

And why do I think a circumcision is an improvement? Quite simply it exposes the penis' most sensitive parts. Contrary to Victorian propaganda, it actually increases masturbation. Furthermore when engaged in sex, these sensitive parts rub right up against the partner rather than against a part of of the penis itself. This in my opinion (in a small way at least) increases the intimacy and reduces the narcissism in copulation. A small wound he will never remember is a small price to pay for this benefit. From my POV it is barbaric and animal-like NOT to circumcize.

Plus it just looks cool, and I never EVER have to worry about head-cheese.

No hard feelings though, it is after all your dick. I will be very angry though if people start saying it should be outlawed. That would be one thing to get Jews and Muslims working together!

Female circumcision is another matter entirely however because that involves wholesale destruction of the organ. (Withstanding macho boastings, my penis works just fine)

not all female circ is that severe.. sometimes it's just a little cut in the clitoral hood, leaving the clit intact.

Where I live circumcision is really rare.. yeay! The guys I've been with were all natural and if you take normal care of your hygiene than there is no problem with 'head cheese'.. if a guy decides to get circed himself, fine.. but why make that choice for your kid? I'd never forgive my parents if they would have cut me without any medical reasons!

1) that circumcision is the 'majority'
2) how does it help masturbation
3) female circumcision destroys the whole organ, male circ. does not.

responses:

1) the majority is only in a minority, ie., the U.S. and in countries with religious majorities who use this practice. Europe and many other places in the world, it is not the majority, so, make a little perspective before worrying that it wouldn't fit in, if you're uncut.

2) The skin acts like a sheath to protect the glans of the penis. When the penis is errect it looks quite similar and nearly indistinguisable compared to circumcised members, because the skin pushes back behind the corona of the head. however, while errect, the skin can be pulled back forward over the glans, so it is it's own little sex tube i guess. it kind of inverts on itself, which isn't the most geometrically simplistic thing to articulate or convey. this is stimulating and also occurs during copulation.

3) the amount of nerve endings resident in the foreskin is very high. this would be tantamount to severing a portion of the nerve bundles that connect your senses. So.. you'd have less feeling in your hands, or less ability to taste maybe, or your hearing would be impared, i guess. But now, imagine how much you enjoy sex, and with your own volition choosing to make it less pleasurable.


i am yet to hear from any of the guys who are older and got a circumcision, saying that sex is better and hygene is better and all this. mumbo jumbo, personally i'd feel almost as bad as having contracted a permanent STD if i made the choice in my 20's to cut off my foreskin. that'd be a really difficult mistake to admit to yourself, let alone to others.. but if the guys are happy and its improved their sex-related life.. thats great for them
