Where were you when the lights went out .

I was just wondering if anyone else has any stories of what they endured when they busted GE.

    Ho SH,

Just a quick aside....Please feel free to make your own any ideas I've fronted...many of them came from people of like-mind brainstorming together. If any leave you with question marks... I be available either PM or email, or the sticky in my forum (second link in signature)...I don't stay up to date here and y'all don't want it in the public as to what you may go for......

Still playing the die hard on my own. Too far N. and too irascible (as you might know ...lol).
    Best to y'all

    Blessings

    Namaste

Yup, OldWolf is talking about those finger lakes. Hey zev was talking the mountains in Vermont. You might turn him on to this. He might like it just as well. ((( And he can still practice laws there because it is the same state ))) I mean if you're use to east coast winters like he is.

My honey is from Rochester. S.W. finger lakes sounds nice. That would seem to be like dead south of Rochester on this map. Way closer to Buffalo and Pittsburg than to New York City.

Yah, 'bout !/2 way between Rochester and the Pa. line.
Because it is not a legal entity the exact location stays only with those who assure it stays private....owned free and clear...hah - ceptin for the bloody taxes.
Planned on IC for a long while....BUT a word of warning....many yearn for it, few commit to it.
Never planned on being the hermit...shoulda looked at the handle I took long ago back in the cb 60's of namadhermit....my main email now. Sometimes the warnings and future tense comin to pass is there in front of us - we just don't see it.
Been involved in a few ICs....most dissipate within a short few....you get some shirkers, or lack of good problem solving communication skills and the spark plugs burn out and leave to find something more like-minded real for themselves, often going it alone. So now I have a rather large solitary homestead that's a bit much for me to handle solo.
The link I mentioned (last link under name in signature), while quite a long time ago is just about exactly still an accurate word-shot of what is.
Am off grid - by choice, and having overextended on equipment am almost out of debt again. Will not build anything except possibly a shop till the community part of the Intent shows....- or not - if not, then maybe if I can find like-minded enough, will try to pass it on for more than is reasonable so as not to leave it a millstone around someone (else"s) neck before I Change realities. I've enjoyed my stay more than I can tell - live in the woods visited by bears, turkeys, deer, and coyotes to mention the bigger of the breeds that travel through the more or less continuous though a times spotty forest that most of western and upstate NY has.

And damn , usually tend to be a lot less verbal.

    y'all have a good one

    Blessings

    Namaste

Hey! the wall paper changed in here. Sure is bright in here. Different.

Hi, oldwolf. I'm not sure if I've got it right. I think that what I'm hearing is that you want to have people come by and see if any of them want to say and form a workable commune on the land there. Guessing that that is right. People living together, working together, and perhaps helping out with the tax burden.

That sounds kind of nobel. Seems to me that in an age of depression and out of work people becoming homeless that it would be easy to reach out. 'Cept people who really need homes, might not own a computer. Oldwolf are you looking for ideas for getting the word out???

Seems to me that with land one could attract all kinds of folks from the poor looking for a second chance to rich kids looking for something wild and different then their boring lives, something authentic or real.

Methods could include anything from putting up a couple of photo copy notices in Laundromats in the next 4 local towns and in their soup kitchens and places, to starting rumors of secret weekend thing by posting notices at the nearest 4 colleges, free admittance for all of the ladies and the guys are buying extra for them a an admission ticket. and BYOB times 2. Three nights only! Campus rumors can end up all over the Internet.

Lot's of other ways to go if that's what you are hoping for. Humans.

    Say cool,
    Kenny

    Hey All,
Kenny.. Old Wolf is very particuler about who comes to the holler. It's not an open sale thing but a private one with Likeminded ppl. He would not want it to fall in the wrong hands and the land be raped and pilaged. He wants ones that would do honor to the land and what it represents. It is Wild and wonderful, full of life and creation. A magical place of wonder and freedom.

    OMG. It's RAINING!!!!

opps, :) sorry for the outburst but it is so rare that we get rain lately. I think I'll go run naked through it.. HA! notta chance.

    Get running! Yeah! Rain!

Sounds like wolf needs to move in some Iroquois traditionalists. However, I think they have their own land already. Still worth inviting them over.

"Like minded" kind of sounds like living in a hall of mirrors. I don't know if anyone can find that.

I'd say, first write up a definition of what "Like minded" is. Totally. Then start your own website on GoDaddy.com I am not even going to try and guess what "like minded" could possibly mean. I'm out of that one.

    LOL

Thanks for asking Kenny, Thanks SH! My world is up and down like most folks. I havent had much luck reaching folks to hang with here in Seattle. Just waiten for my fav. man to show back up, then maybe I'll pop down to see some folks in Portland, but I am waiting for my people to decide where we will have our turkey day council. At least the sun is out! I'm blessed to have 2 friends up here,,, and I have had fun just hanging out. I guess I just miss home, we have a huge community there. Peace! Love!
