Hey, Zev, How do I find out if a nonprofit museum does or does NOT have to charge state sales tax on admission tickets?

 

To find out go to a museum and see if they charge you sales tax. Of course it's different in each state most likely.
Hey Zev, didn't see you there. Am i right or not? Of course there's most likely a web page for each state with reams of fine print you can consult, but thay's your field.

Kenny I think I have an understanding of what a 501c3 is.

But hey it is or can be a confusing thing.

When reading some thoughts here saw folks thinking about ligitamizing a Church, while also wanting to create a means to employ and give bennys to members. Also creating a event(sp). Not sure about paying tax on entry tickets but am sure that I do not want to be an EXHIBT!! (JUST KIDDING) trying to lighten things up!

I THINK I can delete past post...willtry it.

Reminisce

 

I havent seen those folks in a hundred yrs. Ob La De Ob La Da, Life goes on.. lalalala life goes on.

I was only @ Ash Valley for a short time. I went up in 73 or 74 and stayed in the cabin with Shills and Diane a couple of time. Then I rented the School Marms house in Days Creek. That didnt last long. The place had no water, I had to haul it from the school. It got to difficult for me to manage alone in the winter. Jomie ( my boy) was too little to help

I went back to The Haight and all hell broke loose. I got back home to find everyone gone. The place in shambles ( overhouse) I couldnt find me n Jomie's beds, so we went into Painter Jimmiy's room and layed down, his bed was still there. It was very dark.

I was in a deep sleep when I felt a tugging. My arms tightend around Jomie but someone was pulling him away from me. I woke up but couldnt see bc someone was shinning a flashlight in my face.

Then there were men talking loudly and getting excited. I felt arms grabing me. I started fighting and kicking, screaming for my boy. I was being dragged on the floor and then someone put cuffs on my wrists and ankles. Now I was being lifted and carried down the stairs.

I could hear Jomie crying and I couldnt get to him, a mother's worst nightmare. I faught like a demon but there were too many of them. They stuffed me in a squad car and hauled me off to City Prison. I did not know why I was there or what they had done with my boy.

I was there 5 days without benefit of councel or even a phone call. Then on the 5th day the released me without a word. I asked where they had taken Jomie but they would not say. I was scared. I was alone and I couldnt find my boy.
Finelly one of the inmates told me to look at Child Haven for Jomie as I was leaving.

So, up to Child Haven I did go. I sat in a room and they bright my boy wearing pigtails and a girls dress. WTF?!? I hugged him up and ask why they had him dressed like a girl. The lady shrugged her shoulders and left the room.

I sat with Jomie what seemed hours and then they came and took him in the back and just left me sittin there.. I took a bus back to the Haight and was crying and did not know what to do. Nobody really seemed to give a fuck.

Then Chick Johnny stood up and said" Let's Go Get Your Boy Cakes " So off we went in her little car. We got to the place and went in and they brought Jomie out. We grabbed him and made a run for it. We got outside, hoodsliding we got in the car and haulled ass back to the Haight.

We couldnt go back to where they got us so, we headed for Oak St. We were sitting there trying to figure out what to do when the LEOs and CPS pulled up.. Ohh Hell!! They were @ the door. Panic Strikes. One of the 'ladies' of the house (whom will remain unnamed) told me to go out there, that I was bringing heat down on them. What?!?

Me n her was fixen ta go round. It was not that long ago when she was hauled off to jail n it was me that took her kid so the LEOs wouldnt get em. Chick Johnny stood up as to "have my back" and then Aries Larry come in from another room and grabed me n Jomie up and said "this way cakes" and glared at the bitch on our way out the back window, over a few fences and into Toothless Jimmy's back door.

We stayed hidout there till late that night and then they brought a truck around and sped us off to the airport. We hopped a plane to SoCali and I met up with my folks and we all moved to Phoenix.

My parents had just sold their house and was moving back to texas. My sister was living in Phoenix and we all stopped there and me n Jom stayed and my parents went on to Texas after a few weeks.

I never did know why I was arrested, or why they wouldnt let me have my boy. I heard something about being in an abandoned building, a big bust and me being unfit. There was never a judge's ruling, I never went to court. They had no rights to my son.

I did return to The Haight but that is another story in the adventures of nailcakes.
