Hi Mouseman. I spoke to Brad again last night and he asked me to pass on his bests to you and Heather. Brad also told me a lot about how Steve is that that he truly wants to get into Hospital so that he can get comfortable. It I already passed posted sorry it is AM here and I just wanted to get this info out.

Big Steve's time is short. I've been calling him every day (sometimes twice) just to talk to him & give love. He can't talk long at all, so I keep it real short. I asked him if he was going to try to get transplants (kidneys & Liver) or just "take off". He said "no, I guess I'll just split". I said "that's cool". At that point it became easier to just know that....we understood. Big Foot Steve has been my dearest friend since 1969. He helped me to bury Chaquis. He was "best Man" at my wedding to Heather. My heart is breaking as I type this. I long to be with him as he goes over. Bless you, Big Steve; I love you, man.

The day that I met Big Steve turned into a magical day. There, was this guy who was taller then me, with light blond hair, smiling eyes and cheeks, and the biggest smile that I would ever see on any human being, ever. We met. It was all warm and new. We talked. We were deep and true. He has a great sense of humor. He tossed out some witty thoughts. We had some hearty laughs. It was just a meeting of two people. We knew that we were great friends. Magical. Very rare. Extra special. Unique.

I only wish that Steve could get on-line and see some of this web space so that he would know that he still has even more family out there in the world. Maybe it is the time for him to take off. But if he knew, maybe he'd like to stay a while.

Hi all.... Mouseman is Big Steve in the Portland VA Hospital or the Roseburg VA Center? Brad was not exactly sure as he thought Steve wanted to get up to the Portlsnd VA Hospital.

MANY Prayers and some tears are flowing. It is very good that you can communicate with him DAILY please pass on the word that many love him and he will always be part of my memories even tho we have not seen each other in a very long time.

Cris et al,
they moved Steve back to the Roseburg VA. I'm not sure what the plan is; to end it all there or (hopefully) he can go home with hospice care so he can listen to music and have family around. I'll be calling J.D. today to get an update; He usually has the straight skinny. I'll report back as I find out.

Thanks Mouseman for the update. We're all crossing our fingers hoping he will get to go home with his family.

Sometimes it's a blessing to go, be free from the pain and the helplessness.. It's just hard on the ones left behind. It's never easy saying the final goodbye. It leaves you so empty and vunerable, like all your nevers are on the outside of your body and fiire ants are tearing at your flesh..

I know I say this for everyone when I say we hold vigil at our brother's side, in Spirit and in Flesh for the ones that are close enough to visit. I hope they will share the love with Steve that is being related to Steve from here.

good morning all. I was up most of the night but I wanted to update all here with info on Big Steve before I try to get some sleep. Steve is in Roseburg and will stay there. He is getting GREAT Hospice care there. J.D. actually spent the night there last friday night.

J.D. said A LOT OF FOLKS have made it to the place in Roseburg. This has been the BEST place because if he had been in P-town not as many of his close Brothers and Sisters would have been able to make it up there to see him and that is real good!! He is managing pain well and even though this is a sad time, since so many folks have been able to come by it has been real nice for Steve to see how many people have the love for him! I was tearing up as we spoke. It sounds like his time will be soon so if you can or want to contact him DO IT NOW. I asked J.D. to speak to Steve for me as J,D, will be going up there from his place again I think either today or tommorrow.

Mouseman THANKS for the mention about J.D. as that has made it so that I can send my thoughts and love for Steve via J.D. I would have not even thought about contacting J.D. and your mention of him made this happen.

We're gradualy getting there. A note was sent with mouseman's donation saying to let him know when your ready to get the camper, he said they know a lot about them and can help when deciding what is best to get.
