i wasn't critizing anyone. and i was speaking for myself. i have trouble keeping up a healthy weight. often the feeling of food in my mouth makes me gag and i must literally force myself to swallow it lest i waste away. i'm often surviving on Instant Breakfast and yogurt, especially during the summer. a bit of chunkiness would be healthy for me.

Sorry I misunderstood where you were coming from :(

Have you ever tried any herbs to help with your appetite?

I think your remark that old-day hippies were all slim is very true but it's just a coincidence which comes as a consequence of circumstances that back then we had less junk food, more active lifestyle, more positive emotions and feelings, more joyful activities and less wasted time which is usually spent on eating. It was a better era. I don't claim that everything was better back then but it was like "happy go lucky go healthy and naturally beautiful and slim". But does it matter? People can be hip in all shapes and sizes ;))

Undoubtedly, a lot of hippies were thin for those reasons. I was thin back then, because I usually only ate when providence allowed. I remember a stretch of three days where five of us shared a tin of commodity peanut butter and nothing else. I remember many days when we didn't eat at all. We lived for a week, travelling up the CA coast, on whatever we could find in garbage cans at the various beaches. For a long time, we lived up in the mountains in Boulder, CO, riding the free bus down to town to get dinner at the church whenever we got too hungry. That was probably about as healthy as it ever got for us.

Most of the time we didn't try to eat healthy; we felt blessed to get anything to eat at all.

Let's not forget we were younger then and burned calories more efficiently. I weighed around 150 as a young hippie, I'm up around 210 now, even though I've cut back on the calories. If you were to check out a lot of these former hippies you'd certainly find a lot of them have become chubby.

Hippies come in all sizes. Alot of hippies don't have money for food, thus they are smaller.
Good vibes to you my friend.

yeah i do. i use Blessed Thistle as an appetite enhancer, which works pretty good. however, nothing seems to help much during the summer. not sure whats what with that but the summer heat simply kills what little appetite i have. but ya know? i'm still healthy. my energy is good. in fact, i'm a hyper, "can't sit still" kind of person. i just look like shit during the summer with all my bones showing under my skin.

Yep, you know if you're a hippie if you can accept others the way they are no matter what shape or form. ;)

As long as they take baths... I agree with a lot of hippie ideals, but I take 1-2 showers daily.... god damn, without them.... not happening:coffee:

Seems totally normal to me. I do the same thing. I start my day with a shower and if I work outdoors and get dirty I'll take another shower. Not a big deal.

Aye, I always thought was weird for taking two a day at times

Nice to know there are in fact others. Either it's not so strange after all or we are all just nuts lol.

EGAD! UR all too squeaky clean.

Turn in your Hippie credentials, go home and take a shower. :toetap05:

Well, I only take one shower/bath a day - SOMETIMES.

On weekends, unless there is some reason I actually got dirty I'll forego a shower for a day and have gone for two.

BTW, what is this bathing in the morning stuff? I can't even see that. How'd you get so dirty in bed?

I always bathe at night, after getting dirty during the day and feel nice and clean in bed. Then I get up 6 hours later and the bed and I are still clean.

But I've noticed ppl all over the world bath in the morning - I don't understand that.

Sometimes I need a shower in the morning to help wake me up. Maybe you're one of those people who never feels groggy in the morning, if so I envy you. And I may not be a young man anymore but sometimes I do work up a sweat in bed. Don't you?

Hot Coffee - sitting quietly at the kitchen table is my morning thing. A very enjoyable way to wake up, not all wet and moving around in a shower.
I can understand if one is having wild, sweaty, bodily fluids everywhere sex during the night, but that is not a regular thing nor a reason why ppl shower EVERY morning.
