*sigh* And people say only Christians are intolerant. I can show an intolerant non Christian for every intolerant Christian shown to me. Same for the tolerant aspects.

yeah, but ask most people and they'll say otherwise. It's not religion that's turned this world into a horrible place, it's the people who refuse to accept any view that argues with their own as anything but a horrible shot to their face. It pains me at times to see the world like this. Guess one plus side is when the world ends this will end... course if anyone manages to survive it would be the ignorant bigots.

 

Epiphany [Traci] is repentance a public thing, or is it ment to be private, a one-on-one with God and Jesus?

 

Repentance is private (or at least it should be). This is when you ask the Lord for forgiveness for your sins and accept him into your heart.

EDIT: cause if it was public i would have a problem with it...there are a few things im quite strict with

mainly the stuff from the sermon on the mount, but i mean, thats just me

 

Heh, if I had to repent in front of everyone, I would be a bit bothered by it as well.

 

if anyone tried to make me, id give them the sermon on the mount part when He talks about the hypocrites in the streets...yeah, its not the same thing, but it would work for me...theats why i make a point of only praying alone, or saying grace with my friends or whatever

 

So I talked to God the other day. I remember it exactly, and it went like this:

God: Hey, how's it going? You're looking good!

Me: Thanks, God, but I'm really not in the mood.

God: What's up?

Me: School sucks and the weather blows. Yeah, pun intended.

God: Well, that stuff happens. It's part of what makes life worth living.

Me: I know, but it still sucks. You can't expect me to be blissfully happy while this stuff is going on just because it's inevitable.

God: Understandable.

Me: I appreciate all the stuff you've put here for us. The mountains, the clouds, all that nice stuff, but sometimes life is just a pain in the ass.

God: Ok. I didn't do that. Let's sort something out. I am why the conditions to create those things exist, but I didn't do it. Or maybe...

Me: What?

God: Well, I suppose it's possible that I exist as a result of these conditions, and not vice versa.

Me: You don't know?

God: Think about it. If I actually knew everything, my existence would be pointless. I don't know where I came from or where I'm going to go. I only know that I am. That should be ok for you guys down there, too, but apparently it isn't.

Me: What do you mean?

God: Let me give you a tip, and then I gotta fly.

Me: Ok.

God: Stay away from organized religion. They don't know any more about me than anyone else. Live your life well and everything will turn out similarly. If your soul is clean you've got nothing to worry about. I'm not the asshole they make me out to be.

Me: That's really good to hear.

God: Now I really have to go. Peace out, brother.

Me: Catch ya later.

I NEVER stated it was JUST for christians.
I stated it was MADE for christians, therefore one doesn't bash in christians in CHRISTIAN forums. That doesn't exclude people who are willing to learn the TRUTH from asking questions.
I don't go around complaining and flaming in atheist forums,- do I?

saying that this thread is harrassment, is like going into the ove and sex kinky forum and claiming sexual harrasment for that...

 

Epiphany it does not say anywhere in the bible that christians should speak in tongues. This is a man made belief.

Christ only helped his disciples to speak in different languages by placing the holy spirit on and within them so that others who did not speak their language would understand god's word and be brought to christ.

I do like the rest of your page on christianity however.

As I said what Epiphany said was no form of harassment. You just simply didn't like what was being said. There is nothing highly offensive about it at all and as for reporting her. Thats just a load of rubbish.

Although I have stated that Epiphanys 'speaking in tongues in christianity is a man made belief and ' is incorrect in my last post. Everything else she said was correct.

I think that those who verbally mug other posters, free speech not withstanding, should be deemed forum criminals, and dealt with as such. Of course, it is evident that Epiphany is quite able to respond to the occasional negative response in her own strength - because her strength is the Holy Spirit.
