I always have a hard time buying a gift for my dad. I want to get him a watch, but I know he is very particular about his watches. He likes gadgets, does not hunt smoke or fish. I have been looking at this watch but am really unsure as everything I have ever bought him is instantly met with, what did you buy me that for, but within a week he will realize how much he likes it. I am hoping to avoid that this year. Any suggestions? This is the watch I am looking at getting him. Ah pure darkness, I have always likeD you and your photographs. As for Halloween, I go all out at Halloween, I will show you photos later. I got a stick man costume this year from glowing zoey. My dad is like Scrooge on it. He doesn't want to answer the door. I could give him a scare but he might have another heart attack! Lol I thought to write him something sappy about time being all we have. Maybe that is cheesy!
trains big enough to ride on make great gifts for dads. a life-like costume they can wear of their favorite animal or cartoon character. ok i'm not entirely serious, but hay, a nice piece of land out in the country, preferably some place with lots of hills and trees, or how about a bob cat, otherwise know as a skid steer loader, although a live canadian lynx might be fun too. or a robotix kit, or maybe a 3d printer, milling machine, or lazer cutter, better yet all three, and a nice workshop to play with them in. a garage with a hydrolic life if he likes to play with cars. or a high end computer in kit form. and a soldering iron. a programable logic array chip and a bunch of breadboarding boards. a grab bag of assorted light emitting diodes. or to go with the milling machine or lathe, a kit of unmachined castings to make that ride on train out of. a long range solar powered camera drone. or a tiny microscopic bug sized one. the command deck of the star ship enterprise, with fully functional control and display panels.
You hit the nail on the head. No better gift than a card that You custom make and the words you put inside are from your heart. I don't have any children but.... I would melt if my child did that for me. Also include a picture (actual photograph) of yourself. You cant go wrong with giving your heart.
i'm being rediculous, i don't have that kind of money, (i did have a 3d printer for a while until i burned it out using it too much and not letting it rest long enough in between) and i've never (as far as i know, and there's only one chance i know of where i might not know) caused any more humans to be born into this world. but i am male, and old enough to be someone's grand father, let alone dad, and when i married my wife had had a daughter be a previous marriage and her daughter was married and had a couple of children who would be adults by now, so making me a grandfather in law, to coin a relationship. well if anyone wanted to buy me any of those things i've mentioned, along with some place to put them, you know that would be wonderful. the only thing i'm really able to give anyone is a png or jpg file or the blend file of the 3d mesh, these things i can make, and anyone can right-click on the jpg or png if they go where post it and do so. i've only got, i only get, enough for rent and groceries, so i don't know what anyone can actually afford to get anyone else and i really think, what to get anyone, that really depends on them, and whatever their specific interests happen to be, and if you don't understand in detail what those might be, and their personal preferences in them, maybe the best thing to give them would be just money or credit, as impersonal as that might sound, so they can get for themselves, something they would actually like, instead of having to pretend they do, to not make you feel bad for having thought of them. of course anything you actually make yourself, that is art, if that's something they would actually enjoy and appreciate, without just having to pretend to. people are all different, so i wont say this or that on the basis of so general a catagory as 'dad' or 'mom' or 'son' or 'daughter' maybe dad would like a giant inflatable godzilla that would stand taller, when inflated, over the roof of the house. i don't know your dad. i have no way of having the slightest idea what he likes. but what i would not advise, is buying someone something based on what some store, or even cultural assumptions about what to expect someone to like.
How about the Google home speaker assistant. My dad wants one of these. https://store.google.com/product/google_home
