This guy is really deep. it takes me so long to read a page of his work because it is loaded with really heavy content. I picked up "necessary illusions' at a book store the other day. the guy is brilliant, but i think it's going to take me about a year to finish it. Anyone else here into chomsky? Know any other good books he has published?

I love how he talks on and on about how terrible our government was. Then, he talks about how it's not as bad as it used to be, because people just won't put up with that kinda stuff anymore. Then, he talks about how the government is still trying to do some evil stuff.

Then, he talks about how activism is changing attitudes in the majority of the population, and how government is having to respond to that change.

The over all effect is to encourage people to pursue change by peaceful, democratic means by carefully investigating and keeping track of events, making their information and opinions known, and voting their conscience.

If it weren't for Chomsky, the violent revolution might already have taken place (for good or ill). He's brought a whole new meaning to the word pacifism.

I just bought my first Chomsky book: Objectivity and Liberal Scholarship.

Looking forward to what will hopefully be a good read.

chomsky can be a little verbose. his writngs are however structured. chomsky informs the reader on the whys and hows rather than concentrating on the whats.

I got 'The Essential Chomsky' recently - a good starting point for anyone interested in this great writer. Also bought 'Hopes and Prospects' and 'Gaza in Crisis'.

I own "Rules and Regulations" but haven't finished it.

I just started "Language and Politics" today. C.P. Otero's introduction taught me more about cognitive science and political philosophy than my entire high-school and college education.
