Mother's Love, I just have to tell you that I really admire all the many MANY things you do. The sewing, gardening, building/construction plans, and even etc! Mercy, you do a lot of things...and do it well! (I can tell from all of the informative, intelligent info you say. )

I do come from a long line of seamstresses. By high school, I was making most of my clothes; but, never could get those blue jeans quite right...not enough to wear in public anyway. About 2 months ago, I measured, cut, basted, and sewed (and sewed some more) a new skirt for the vanity in the bathroom, and even had to figure how to "make" a ruffle, using several lines of stiching and strong hemming bias tape. Then, I actually used 60 (SIXTY!) upholstery tacks to get it attached. BUT...it was the first thing I've sewed in many a year, and looks damn good, if I say so myself.

For a time, sewing would really tear up my nerves (perfectionist type crap), but I'm wanting to get into it again. I, too, love gardening; but, surely am not able to do it to your scale. A capopy of trees over relatively every spot of the yard is sort of a deterent for veggies...but snakes love it. lol

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that.

aww, thanks. thats really sweet. i have always liked learning stuff. this is my first year doing a garden all on my own, so judge me in october i used to be good at growing things that grow themselves- squashes, melons, cucumbers, and the whole mint family. i dont have garden protection from the rabbits, so i really dont know what i will get.

get back into sewing! i never liked working with denim, i still avoid it whenever possible. my first "how-to" was the " illustrated, hassle-free make your own clothes book" i have an older copy


i have ambitions that are too big for my britches. but now i have a place to work them out on, and that makes me happy.
