black points don't do anything right?? I got to comments and both where black boxes, obviously from neutral users?? that means they have no power right???

 

oh ....mine are all black.

 

That means (I THINK) that they don't have enough points currently to effect your score, I'm still not quite sure though.

 

I want to see if i have any power, hopefully i have some i'm gonna give you a reputation point right now tell me if the box is black.

I think I am just not going to worry about my reputation anymore. It is all too confusing. If people don't like what I say, then too bad for them.

i wonder how much reputation you have to spread before you can give it to someone again. i was thinking that perhaps if you gave someone 2 comments then it would go green

Reputation is a very complex system that allows users to rate each other. The amount of points added or deleted is determined by the person doing the rating. Different member groups have different amout of weight in rating others.

Your reputation can affect your advancement thru the site. A negative reputation can prevent someone from becoming a full member.

How all this works won't be made public so it won't be abused. But i will say that those who abuse the system won't have ANY impact on others reputations. And those individuals may find their OWN reputations severely affected by their abusive actions. So use it sparingly & wisely.

Apparently the way it will work is that I must give out the first (when I finally get a chance) and those that receive it will be able to give it to others and it will spread from the "top" down.

This way the system won't be abused by those who only want to improve their own reputation & that of their friends. It will have to be earned!

As the system matures, it will take care of itself.

if you look at the members list page, and click on reputation, the list sorts itself out and shows who has the most rep so far. it's alphabetical, so you can sortof guess who has how many rep points if you know how many you have yourself.
i'm pretty sure that skip must have given out some rep to a few people already.
