The ChaRvA's - as they are properly known up here, and to those with some degree of social nous, are a typical 'tribal' phenomena. A pretty depressing phenomena at that. One would have hoped that by the year 2000, England would have resolved social class issues. But, no. I laugh - fortunately, frequently and often! - at the anti - american nonsense I see in this part of the forum, when the UK is one of the worst countries in the WORLD, let alone Europe. You do NOT even live in a democracy - your head of state is unelected, you pay taxes to keep a so called 'royal' family in constant luxury, you pay a tax to watch a television, the health service is Third World standard, the education system turns out thousands of half-wits, year in, year out, who cannot even speak a foreigh language fluently by the time they are 16, unlike the French, Germans, etc etc. Charvas reflect this country quite admirably, IMO.

can i just add that speaking a foreign language fluenty by the time your 16 is fuking impressive and to complain that we all cant is kinda harsh and that to be fair a hell of a lot of people are much cleverer than people in other countries. and the chavs are just 1 group of people, how can u say the reflet the hole country? makes no sense to me
Can I just point out that some people seem to think it's too much trouble to learn their own language properly! But I digress... anyway, my point is that foreigners are no better at learning languages than we are. They just happen to be as good at learning English as we are (or at least what they THINK English is) because it's all over the media, film, television, internet etc, well at least American is. But if you go up to a German and speak to them in French, or go up to a Swede and speak to them in Italian, you'd get the same response as you would an Englishman, chav or otherwise. I'd also like to point out that anyone can learn to speak a language fluently. All it requires is to go and live in a foreign country for a while and immerse yourself in it. And the younger you are when you do it the more easily you will pick it up. It's just a question of how much you want to learn it and whether you're prepared to go abroad. Now as it happens, lots of foreigners seem to want to come here. Very few English people particularly want to go abroad. Maybe that says something about the English education system compared with those of other countries, I don't honestly know. One way or another though, chavs are lazy fuckers who can't even be arsed to learn English properly - they speak it almost as badly as the yanks for fuck's sake!
