How long is your lunch?

We take a 10 min break after 2.5 hours then at 12:30 we take a 15/20min lunch.

Our breaks are usually short cause when we focus on our stuff the day goes pretty quick... sometimes..

 

sometimes we skip lunch, like if i have a relatively easy day operating machinery i can munch and work and plow through, but we get a 15 at 9 then a 30 for lunch at noon. today was roughhhh making gabion baskets, but i did have a couple hours in an end dump, im freakin beat!!

 

one thing I love about my job (except the fact its going to get me through winter financially from savings) is that in the 8 hours we are there are lunch and break is included and part of our pay. Ive had plunty of jobs where you go on break and have to be off clock..such bullshit.. and the 3 guys I work with do professional work so we don't milk the clock..

 

yeah im working on a multimillion dollar project right now, putting in cores, cement pipes, and ponds for a very nice ddevelopment near john hopkins college and labs. its nuts and yeah we dont get paid for our breaks. layoffs start near the end of november bbut my company fills out the paperwork so we collect unemployment while laidoff so i get paid to sit on my ass for 3 months which is pretty nice. that when i can light up again, since im drug tested here...

 

the house im working on is over 4,000 square feet, its a big nice place, small indoor pool that uses current so you can swim, a yoga room, 2 car garage, big master bedroom, huge kitchen.. and no neighbors.. but they are doing crazy custom work on the roof.. its a very complex place in general..

ive done concrete work man... and its such a bitch if you don't have shade..

pouring the foundation walls and being a man short yelling at each other as you push the mud so it doesn't over flow lol... pretty funny looking back..

ive done this many times and once again im reminded its much better than customer service..

'excuse me sir where is our drink?'
'its being made'
'well we are waiting'
'yea I know you wanna do this job?'

yeah im done with that..did it off and on for years

 

my dog was trying to get one of your fellow squirrels who was hiding in a pile of scrap wood.

she did not get him.

 

I have ground beef and hotdog buns... don't ask how this happened..

I have never made a hamburger in hotdog shape.

It will taste fucking good cause... well, it has to. lol

Today was such a lovely day. One of my friends I used to work
with who got promoted to manager at another store came by today
and brought me starbucks. I've been having a really hard time at work
with my manager but this really brightened the start of the week.
She stayed for a few hours and we talked and worked.
