So what do you think about the whole "weed is stronger today then it used to be" argument? I never got to smoke Thai stick or any of the old famous strains. To me it seems stupid because if the weed is weaker I am just going to smoke more of it to get stoned. It's like beer vs. whiskey in the end I am still drunk but with beer I had to drink more. It's just propaganda put forth by anti drug people because there is a generation of older people who did smoke. They don't want them to think it is OK for their kids to smoke so they make you believe weed is somehow more dangerous now.

I basically agree with you but not entirely. Back in the day, and I first smoked on May Day 1971, there was some good weed around, but it was hard to find. Very hard to find. Most of the time, we smoked commercial Mexican and you had to smoke a lot and you always got the munchies. I went to Jamaica several times and the ganja was excellent, way better than what I could find in Boston.

Around 1990 I got to smoke some hydroponic stuff that they said was from the manager of the Jefferson Starship. It was unbelievable. Amazing. But somebody got busted and I never got any more.

Then, a few years ago, after several years of drought, I found a supplier of medical-grade pot. In particular, Blue Dream. Very, very good, and has some wonderful qualities that I had never experienced before. One bowlful sets me up for a wonderful time.

Now, it seems to me that the average quality of today's pot is way higher than the average quality back in the day. So, the drug warriors have a point. But heck, I still think it's not dangerous, just dangerously wicked. And of course I believe the government has no business telling us what we can do with our own bodies.

 

I started with Mexican weed too. It got me stoned but I felt so burned out. I smoked some medical weed and the high was SO much better. They grow it right in Jamaica all natureal no chemicals. It's part of the rasta faith they don't want to pollute the herb. I think that is why some people have more trouble with weed. They might be smoking some pesticide or something.
