A friend of mine had a cd of some industrial band. The entire sleeve was just black the only thing that was on it was in dark gray and tiny letters on the back was the copyright warning and record company name. One of the stranger record art i have seen.

 

remembering cassettes trying to squeeze in more paper for art and lyrics. i always tore them up, cause after you unfolded it, you couldnt get the tape back in right.

 

Everyone always bitched about CD's because records were so big and made art better and more of it....tool made some kick ass cd covers though so i say that excuse is just lazy bullshit.
Pink floyds pulse album was decent too.
