I can't go blow money as a joke unless my parents gave it to me? The last time my parents gave me money was $100 on my birthday. Before that? $100 on Christmas.

I make my own fucking money and do with it how I please. I don't need you to tell me to get laid either, I'm actually doing just fine in that department. Quit fantasizing about me blowing loads.

From my understanding Denver is the current culinary mecca... I imagine boulder gets the overflow being so close.

 

In my living there, Oregon is a good state, but the cops were terrible, real bad.. and the speed limits are even worse..

No sales tax kicks ass but owning property sucks because of its taxes..

I think it's relatively big, but mostly because I always stay in the south side. Live in the east, school in the west. Oregon is wonderful. Some places had record low temps for the month last night. Had to unfreeze my windshield this morning We know what to expect with the weather, but in comes in weird patterns

I was meaning that for all the talk Boulder gets for having such great food, I have had shit in terms of Italian.

The more expensive it gets, the smaller the portions are and the quality doesn't really get any better.

I assume it is because you can confuse rich people easily if they don't have any idea of real culture. Back in KC, we had Italian families living there for over 100 years and a lot of them were direct Sicilian immigrants with GREAT food.

Great Viet food too, but I haven't had any of that here.
Definitely not good BBQ - except for Georgia Boys - that was pretty damn good from Longmont.

I think a lot of what Boulder gets notes for is actually start-up businesses. Noodles & Co and Chipotle both started here I guess...kind of ironic.

I wouldn't think it's ironic... I'm sure there's been change in their menu ideas since they expanded beyond Boulder.

I think more people move to Colorado for the outdoors aspect of Colorado.... Unlike KC... If they didn't have good BBQ... Why would you even wanna live there.

Something to take into consideration about portion size in fancy restaurants... Food combinations... Perpetrations... Freshness... Plate presentation all add up a lot quicker... Especially when you have an expensive staff of culinary engineers pumping out not only delicious food but awesome looking food at that. You want cheap plate fulls... Head to your Perkins or whatever cookie cutter family dining restaurant. You want memorable food... You go somewhere fancy... And you have to explore and often go outside of your comfort zone to enjoy it.

I totally 'get' fine dining and all that jazz.
I just am not impressed with a 20 dollar plate of some pasta dish that is literally the size of my palm. It isn't that I want more, or am lost on the idea of pairing it with wine or however fresh that pasta is.

It's that it's fucking pasta and cheaply made.
And that's what I have a problem with a lot of 'fine' dining in this town. 'Organic' and 'fair trade' are buzz words and if it is vegan and gluten-free, well then not only must it be better, but OHHHH so much more expensive!

My point is that GOOD food used to be standard. Now that fancy chemicals have replaced no-brainer restaurant operations, restaurants can now bank on things that SHOULD be cheaper in the first place.

I realize the issue is much bigger than just the restaurant itself, but my point is that I found better food in other cities that was not pure hype.

Again that might come back around as to what people are doing in Colorado versus people in KC. (Tourist/Yuppie fucks versus Keepin it fucking real)
