I really feel like i need to escape everything, i've always wanted to go to europe, within the the next year i'm going for a few months.. ive been wanting to do this for years. Once i turn 19.. But i know if i go i'll loose everything, all my savings to 'buy a house' with, i don't even give a fuck about owning a house.. its just what my mom tells to constantly save my money for.. i'd rather travel and live free. And my girlfriend... I wanted her to come.. but apparently she thinks schools more important and can't afford to take one little semester off.. so odds are i'd go alone, i think that'd be more fun anyways.. but i think if i go alone that would be the end of us

Who gives a fuck about buying a house. You shouldn't even THINK about a fucking house, nigga you cant even drive, fuck the house tell you are 30.

Their is only one person who walks in your shoes and you know who that is. You can walk in single file, and listen to those who tell you what to do, or you can leave the line and go do what the fuck you want. Hopefully sooner rather than later you will realize that you are the ONLY one that controls this. People will try to convince you your whole life what you should do, until they realize you are acting on what you want, now they aint saying shit.

After your success, they will be congratulating you on the very thing they were against at the start.

Do what you want, or do what they want. Walk in single file like every other college student, or say fuck this im gonna explore, that single file line will always be there.

 

You and your girl might split, but tell her you want to keep on contact because you don't want to lose the friendship. I have done this with ever girl ive gotten to know well.

Some of them i never talk to again and thats that. Some though i still talk with, and when im in their area we meet up. Everyone needs friends, so do what you can to not loose them.

You don't know what the future holds for you two even if you aint together.

You never know man, 8 years later you might become best of friends through reasons youd never think of.

Always make sure you got a phone number and if possible email. Cause peoples phone numbers change all the time, and ya can loose the friendship and didnt even mean to..but emails people seem to never change...thats how ive seen it.

 

i think everyone feels like that around your age man, it's a pretty odd time in your life. lots of change, and no clear direction. honestly, if you want to travel, then save up some money and just do it. if your girlfriend doesn't want to come, find a friend who wants to do it.

or, if you're still planning on university, see if your school has any sort of study abroad programs. that way you could stay in school and travel at the same time.

it's hard to know what to do sometimes. here's my 2 cents

if you gf wants to stay in school, don't try to force her. it's one thing if she's really aching to do this, and another if she wants to do the standard level-headed thing.

there may be a middle path. one is that you wait until the summer and go together

another is that you go alone, but work things out with her so that she is ok with it. maybe a shorter trip than you have planned.

you could also do something where you take a longer trip, but she meets up with you for like a week or so

also, maybe there is a way that you can do some work while in europe to better manage the costs

you might be able to do something like work on an organic farm in exchange for room and board


you might want to try meditating on a regular basis. this can help you get your head straight.

Thanks for all the advice everyone, it really does help.

I like the idea of working while traveling, being able to save money and stay longer.. I'd honestly just love to leave and stay there for as long as i can, for months.. just travelling around to different cities and countries getting by with only what i need. That's honestly the ideal life for me, and when i try to explain this to my parents they think i'm just lazy and don't want to work, when i explain it to my girlfriend she just doesnt understand, and when i explain it to friends they think im just kidding.. why is it so out of the ordinary to want to be free and not tied down to anything?

I want to reply more in-depth.. But Subway closes in 30 minutes and i have to walk there and i'll be smoking a nice deewb on the way there to end this night properly, so if i don't reply i just fell asleep eating a sammich i guess lol

 

I know people reach out on social networks.

but often the solution to the problem will work itself out. youll waste more energy worrying about it..

 

So act on it, and go do what ya want. Then they will understand, and most likely thats the only way they will ever realize and believe you are not kidding.
